What irritates you at work?

Mine are:

Managers saying 'can you just quickly...? and it taking half a day

Faffy work colleagues

Lazy people who don't pull their weight

People who ask pointless questions or talk non stop when you're busy

Stressed our managers

And people who print 100 page documents on the only working printer, forcing you to wait when you only have a page

OP posts:

People who can’t say “please” and “thank you”.
And those that think they know how to do my job ..... but never have nor ever will try to do it, yet persist in telling me how to do it - even when it’s been proved that ‘there way’ does not work - as proved by many outside, official reports from those who do know how my job should be done.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 18/11/2019 21:21

The deputy heads complete inability to manage people or discipline children effectively

Bargebill19 · 18/11/2019 21:21

Their not there. Sorry been one of those weeks.

Longdistance · 18/11/2019 21:23

A colleague who keeps interfering in my and other colleagues work. She thinks she’s being helpful. She keeps sticking her nose into everything and being a busy body and wonders why she’s behind on her own work 🙄
She was told when she started to just stick to her own work. She’s balls up loads and given wrong information out and has had to sort the mess out and makes herself more work.

Oops! I vented a bit too much there Blush

ConFusion360 · 18/11/2019 21:24

At the moment, everything.

PixieDustt · 18/11/2019 21:24

Rachel. She irritates me.

Frazzlerock · 18/11/2019 21:24

Acronyms for EVERYTHING so that I've literally no idea what anyone is talking about

People with earphones in so I end up in silence all day everyday as there's no one to talk to

People who walk past without saying good morning, but will say good morning to their own team mates, despite walking right past me.

People eating my lunch even though it has my name on

People who leave the kitchen in a disgusting mess and are unable to put their plates and cups in the dishwasher

cheeseislife8 · 18/11/2019 21:26

People in general

Bargebill19 · 18/11/2019 21:26

People who mess with my office. I don’t mind them using it for storage - but don’t touch my stuff, leave the furniture alone and no it’s not your doss out place just because I’m not in that day.
And just how difficult is it to lock a b door?

Frlrlrubert · 18/11/2019 21:34

Parents who think I only teach their child, and that I've got nothing better to do than call them back to hear them rant about the fact said child got detention for not doing their homework.

It's school policy. You got a letter about how it's 'zero tolerance'. Your child had a week. The letter clearly states they should have seen me in advance of the hand in date if there were problems. It is quite literally above my pay grade. Even if I wanted to I can't cancel that detention.

Imagine if everyone was a special as you and I had this phone call 60 times a day. The fact I had to set the detention (die in a fire SIMs) in the first place has already wasted enough time ffs!

heidbuttsupper · 18/11/2019 21:41

At the moment, everything. The people, the work, even the building.

Omg @LadySlipper what happened!! That is my worst nightmare ShockShock

Snowy111 · 18/11/2019 21:45

Slow computer systems!Angry

Iceburglettuce · 18/11/2019 21:50

People using the phrase "going forward..." makes me want to scream!

fatulousatforty · 18/11/2019 21:51

People on their mobile phones

People being lazy

People not doing their own job

People trying to get me to help them do their work because they have been on their mobile phone all fucking shift

Pollypocket952 · 18/11/2019 21:55

The smelly dirty unkempt looking bastard that sits next to me. He has been told to 'go shower' at work by management numerous times & the selfish dirty bastardised bastard still doesn't fucking get it ..... it's his dirty clothes that stink Confused so off he trots to the work shower & comes back stinking all the same. The way he gloats around the office so sure of himself looking to bug anyone for conversation ... so sure of himself this one is that the dirty arse wipe has said quite flirty/ hit on me things in the past ... because he's so sure of himself that I would have said yes & gleefully ended the 'suffering' of his poor long term GF that can't afford to break up with him. The way he bangs on about endless shite all day & casually sits back in a distracting manner hoping to make eye contact with anyone whose head isn't balls deep in their work & then proceeds to speak all sort of shite to them, he's very loud & his voice carries over several desks. People spray air freshener when he gets up to leave his desk. I've asked to be relocated seats & my manager hasn't asked me why yet ... I will tell her it's because of the stench from him, it's unbearable. He calls me 'darling' & no matter how many times I ignore him or don't engage he just keeps going like a weeble wobble that just doesn't get defeated or take a hint. I'm at breaking point with him, spilling actual vitriol now lol GrinJust the sight of him makes my skin crawl. He's desperate for any human interaction I presume as he doesn't get any conversation from his GF he says. He makes me want to vomit AngryAngryAngry And he makes going into work very fucking intolerable.

Pollypocket952 · 18/11/2019 21:57

I feel better now I got that off my chest GrinGrinGrin

mineofuselessinformation · 18/11/2019 22:04

Colleagues who don't know about something that everyone else does - and then announces 'oh, I don't have time to check my emails' or 'where do I find that?'. And genuinely seem to expect an answer..... Hmm

emphasisofmatter · 18/11/2019 22:07

How senior people at my work say "impactful" all the time. The report needs to "add value and be impactful". Bleurgh. So many other things too but that one is bothering me the most today!

Iceburglettuce · 18/11/2019 22:19

When you're clearly in the middle of something and someone says"oh if you're not busy, can you...."

mineofuselessinformation · 18/11/2019 22:23

Oh, and asking me to do something, but to make it 'visually interesting'.

mineofuselessinformation · 18/11/2019 22:23

P.S. Therefore implying that everything else I produce is bloody boring.Angry

Ariela · 18/11/2019 22:24

One of the computers I use decides, randomly, to go slow. Very slow. Nobody has sussed why yet nor how to fix it.
The other main gripe right now is the loo sometimes sticks so the tank doesn't fill but it keeps running. Noisily. So we have to go and take the lid off the cistern and thump the stuck valve till it fills and stops.
Also nobody makes me tea, seems to be me making it all the time for everybody else.

DrCoconut · 18/11/2019 22:29

Being there mostly 😂

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 18/11/2019 22:29

I have a colleague who folds/hangs up laundry while it's inside out so it sits/hangs in drawers/wardrobes inside out.

WTF?

What is this LUNACY??

I'm quite chilled, but thus really winds me up.

Hippopotas · 18/11/2019 22:37

Just people I hate people.
