My friend asked me to help her solve this riddle. This what she sent me-

"Need some ideas of what this is?
Here are the clues

It’s orange (you can get it in different colours)
Round
Not electrical
Not batteries operated
You can put liquid or solid in
Not for the kitchen
Can move it to any room
The same weight as a cat
Anyone in the family can use (ie kids or adults)

This is meant to be my best friends present from her other half and I’m racking my brains here..getting nowhere!"

I told her if the good folk of Mumsnet can't solve this then nobody can!

Alien butt-plug.

Ohffs66 · 18/11/2019 17:30

All I can come up with is a large bowl or a giant mug!

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 18/11/2019 17:31

An actual cat?

DS2 (8) suggests it's a heavy potty.
DS1 (10) reckons a large plant pot.

cazkieran · 18/11/2019 18:00

A cat

lucysmam · 18/11/2019 18:00

12yo dd1 is giggling away at herself here...her answer was...a radio Hmm

She got the giggles when I pointed out you might not want to put liquids, or solids, in radio.

fllinn · 18/11/2019 18:02

I reckon it's a vase. Flowers solid, water liquid. Get her to find out if it is fragile.

EggysMom · 18/11/2019 18:04

But why would a kid use a vase?

fllinn · 18/11/2019 18:12

My kids love picking flowers and putting them for people to see. Usually dandelions in egg cups but still..

AnneKipanki · 18/11/2019 18:13

I think a vase too .

Ohhhthepain · 18/11/2019 18:14

I think it’s a cat like pp . A ginger one.

icouldcareless · 18/11/2019 18:18

It's a Boswell.

AdaColeman · 18/11/2019 18:19

The ginger tom from next-door-but-one!

FredaFrogspawn · 18/11/2019 18:19

A ball of some sort?

FlamingoAndJohn · 18/11/2019 18:20

Are the post office steps involved?

swapsicles · 18/11/2019 18:20

Space hopper?

Fingermoose · 18/11/2019 18:22

Yep, a cat. Solids and liquids = food and drink, can go in any room, not electrical, round(ish) but the question is does she want a ginger cat?

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 18/11/2019 18:33

But how do you use a cat? Confused

OP posts:
WeeDangerousSpike · 18/11/2019 18:38

You don't. A cat uses you.

WeeDangerousSpike · 18/11/2019 18:40

How about one of those air freshener / incense / wanky wax melt thingys?

Pomley · 18/11/2019 18:40

Fish bowl?

WeeDangerousSpike · 18/11/2019 18:40

Although a cat is quite heavy...

Does she have a particularly small cat?

Witchend · 18/11/2019 18:48

A large mug

NaviSprite · 18/11/2019 18:51

I’m on the side of those suggesting it’s a cat.

Orange (tabby)
Round (when it’s curled up? Maybe! Or fat?)
Not electrical or battery powered
Can put liquid or solids in (water and food)
Not for the kitchen (maybe his desire is for the feline to keep out of the kitchen, or not be eaten 😂)
But it can move to any other room
Same weight as a cat - I have four and they weigh differing amounts, it’s bizarrely specific wording.
Anybody in the family can use it... well all can pet it anywho Grin

custardbear · 18/11/2019 19:02

Bowling ball ?
