Aching after exercise class 2 days ago...should I skip tonight...

Went for it in a class on Saturday and now can’t lower myself to sit on loo or walk downstairs without using the hand rail one step at a time.

Should I skip tonight class or just do what I can....?

Unless you think you have actually injured yourself, it’s probably DOMS

Depending on how you feel, you can either rest or push through it (gently)!

Well done on exercising though, I’m still sat on the sofa!

Just keep going. Even if you're stiff from Saturday you can still do bits of today's class.
I get that level of stiffness when I put my weights up or change routines.

PurpleDaisies · 18/11/2019 08:21

I’d keep going. When you get started, you will feel better.

Push through!

MrsL2016 · 18/11/2019 08:27

I find it helps with the stiffness, I would go and just not push yourself too hard.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 18/11/2019 08:31

Some bit of me hurts every day, depending on the class. I go the next day though.

Zampa · 18/11/2019 08:32

Epsom salts and a foam roller are your friends plus plenty of water!

HulksPurplePanties · 18/11/2019 08:33

Go, but take it a little easier. Moving around again will make you feel better.

Drbrowns · 18/11/2019 08:35

It’s just doms. Push through and drink plenty of water between now and then. Once you start moving again it’s not as sore.

snufflebuns · 18/11/2019 08:37

Definitely go! I recently started exercising and although I was stiff and couldn't do stairs/loo/anything all day - after the class I felt a million times better!

isabellerossignol · 18/11/2019 08:38

I would go, the aches will ease once you start moving. Then you'll be sore again tomorrow!

Bluntness100 · 18/11/2019 08:40

Push through, you'll find your muscles loosen up and you can do it.

Tensixtysix · 18/11/2019 08:50

Sounds like DOMS. You've had the one day of rest, push yourself and the next round of exercise should make you feel better.

Bluntness100 · 18/11/2019 11:12

Yes the next bout will help. It's called active recovery.

CatUnderTheStairs · 18/11/2019 21:37

I went, you were right, I feel better.

Well done OP Smile

I have DOMS after a trail race yesterday. I'm resting today but back at running club tomorrow, hoping I'm not running like the Tin Man Grin
