Dh and I are planning a night away and would like to visit a Christmas market while we’re there. We’re in the midlands but don’t mind travelling 2-3 hours. Any recommendations?

When are you going? Bury St Edmunds has a four day event, from this Thursday, which is supposed to be fantastic. Lots of entertainment as well as market. Don't think you'll find anywhere to stay in the town, though.

Bath is lovely. Nov 28th-Dec 15th.

Another one here recommending Bath. It's a gorgeous town anyway, and the market is really special. We try to go every year, but it does get very busy.

Manchester's good and there's loads of stalls

What about Winchester? Opens on Thursday and goes on to the 22nd Dec. Plenty of other things to do and nice places to stay and eat too.

Chatsworth Christmas market - 15th Nov to 3rd Dec (although restricted access until 24th Nov due to recent flooding)
Lincoln Christmas market - 5th to 8th Dec

So not a Christmas market as such but we have just returned from Bournemouth Christmas Tree Wonderland which was amazing. It's a trail of Christmas themed sculptures and trees with a small market at the top.

Couple that with the glorious beach and I would definitely recommend it. We stayed in premier inn boscombe and walked the mile along the seafront to Bournemouth. It was so lovely😎

We live in Manchester so I may be biased but they are so good! Can be very busy at night but not too bad in the day, we like going on a Sunday afternoon not too mental!
