Going to visit some dear friends over there and want to bring them a gift. Males and females in their 40s. I don't know if there is anything we have over here that is hard to get in the US?

My mom always wants Christmas cake ( fruitcake with icing) as she can't get it. And Yorkshire tea bags. And mince pies. She's American.

Also, you definitely can't take Christmas crackers on a plane. And I'm guessing you can't post them either since that's airmail.

How about regional British cheeses. I'd miss our cheeses like crazy if I lived in the US. Accessories made from British fibres - (e.g. shetland wool or harris tweed). Shortbread... British sweets, maybe?
