Two of the children from the primary school I work at live directly opposite me.

They knocked on about an hour ago with a bag full of, very brightly iced and decorated, mini doughnuts Grin

Anything made you lot grin from ear today?

My dc getting the all clear from a potential live changing medical condition. 😊

Realised today dd4 might want a doll's house 😂 I don't have the heart to throw away this large piece of polystyrene she's commandeered. Luckily santa is bringing her a house.

What's brightened your day up today?

Lovely manager at an English Heritage property we visited today spent ages chatting to DC who was keen to talk about their favourite historical eras.
Manager got some of the costumes out, let DC dress up and had a play sword-fight.

The sky as I drove home from a friend's house (streaky, wintery and lovely).

Watching art videos in my pyjamas when my children went to bed.

Beach what a fantastic Christmas present for your family ❤️

CherryPavlova · 17/11/2019 22:17

Beach that’s lovely.
Dog had his cone of shame off, so could run on the beach again. Beach was beautiful, tide out so miles of sand with lots of happy people. Children and dogs splashing in the sea with great joy.

I decorated our sons welcome cake ready for when he returns from deployment on Thursday. It didn’t smudge or crack.

Asked for ID in Tesco. For red bull.
I’m nearly 30 years old.
I had 0 makeup on and bed hair.

I was at work for 14hrs today. That wasn't great, but my team really pulled together to get things done and looked after each other as well as the patients.

Ihatesandwiches · 17/11/2019 22:30

DP asked me to share some photos from my phone for a photo album he's making his mum for Christmas. I went through all my photos of 2019 and deleted the blurry ones and giggled at the rest!

slavetolife · 17/11/2019 22:33

Today my eldest DD is 18. After a totally shit few years of teenager hood, i am happy to say that I am proud of the young woman she is turning into despite a host of issues - still a way to go but at one point I didn't think she would make 18!

SnowsInWater · 17/11/2019 22:56

Morning here, DS2 just made me a bacon sandwich for breakfast. We sat in the sun and had a chat over coffee and bacon butties, lovely.

Finding out that our local constituency is one of the few in the country which will have a Monster Raving Loony candidate at the general election in December. Which gives me a credible alternative to the extremely safe-seated current incumbent, who I simply can't stand Nadine Dorries

Foldinglaundryisnotforme · 17/11/2019 23:02

@DontGoIntoTheLongGrass that has absolutely melted me! So sweet seeing their little imaginations play out

Redshoeblueshoe · 17/11/2019 23:08

Slavetolife my DD was in your Dds shoes 15 years ago. Now she's a mum to the cutest toddler on the planet Flowers

shiningstar2 · 17/11/2019 23:15

A couple of hours in the morning with my 88 year old mum who is independant and cheery most of the time despite recently losing her son. Just caught her as she was popping along the street to take a bunch of flowers to someone along the street who has recently come out of hospital. Still drives herself around locally in the day time. She always reminds me of this little verse:
Most of life is froth and bubble
two things stand like stone
Kindness in another's trouble
Courage in your own.

Afternoon walking our lovely Northumberland beaches with dh and dog.

CoodleMoodle · 17/11/2019 23:17

Had an actually pleasant Sunday for once. Usually find the weekends hard, juggling the 5yo and 1yo, but we went out to a garden centre and had a really nice time. DD was interested in all of the different Christmas decorations etc, and DS didn't scream the place down or bolt out the door (he was on the reins, but still!). They both enjoyed the pet/fish shop next door as well, and so did DH and I. There was a puffer fish! And a hermit crab!

Baths were painless, DD did her homework without a fuss, both kids went to bed easily. Sometimes it's just nice to have a smooth day.

auditoryhallucinations · 17/11/2019 23:23

Spent quality time with my parents which I try often to do but it's hard to fit in around life!

And cuddled dcat who's feeling much better after a trip to the vets this weekSmile

A YouTube clip someone sent me of two parrots on a perch, one rocking to someone singing Don't Be Cruel, the other one looking completely disgusted with such a display. It just made me crease up laughing.

MairzyDoats · 17/11/2019 23:40

Made a very late Christmas cake and it looks like it's come out beautifully...smells amazing too.

AuntyElle · 17/11/2019 23:49

What a lovely thread! DontGoIntoTheLongGrass, I absolutely adore your DD’s home-made dolls’ house. So creative! 💜 Cheered today by my endlessly lovely foster kittens.

AuntyElle · 18/11/2019 10:34

I killed the happy thread? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Foldinglaundryisnotforme · 18/11/2019 20:57

@AuntyElle I'll revive it.... My 4mnth old DS found his feet today and got so excited he let out a full blown belly laugh! I got my carpet professionally cleaned and watched while the cleaner did it.... So satisfying!!!! I bought a new to-do list/schedule pad and wrote on the first page. Heaven! I'm also about to redo my feature wall and I started to strip the paper and the first strip I pulled came off in one big lovely whole sheet!

AuntyElle · 18/11/2019 21:34

Adorable Smile
