Anyone else got big plans for 2020?

Can't wait for the 1st of January to get here. I know it sounds very corny but I'm so looking forward to a "new year new me"

I've been dealt with miscarriage, depression and separating with my exdp and the father to my girls this year. It's been tough but I've got so many plans for next year. And the biggest is getting a job. I haven't worked since 2014, with my youngest starting nursery in January I'll be looking to work part time and I can't bloody wait. I have one friend because I lost all my other friends to being busy and not having the cash to socialise. I can't wait to work and meet new people and make some friends. I'm 35 and I'm ready to make a lot of changes.

Also got little things like saving, decorating my whole house, upgrading my car and going on a weekend trip with my best friend abroad (never been out of the uk) passing my driving test, looking after my appearance and just being a happier person in general.
Bring it on I'm so ready Grin

I really hope it works out op..you’ve had a lot on your plate .
At least next year shouldn’t be any worse

I’ve been dogged by health problems..so Ive made radical changes and I hope next year healthwise I’m going to 101 per cent better..

Everything to live and hope for.

2020 will consist of..
• a lot of traveling (got a lot of weekend Europe city breaks booked for the start of the year so will be finally hitting my 30th country!)
• turning 21
• lots of uni work
• welcoming my first baby into the world in July!
I'm very excited Grin

Infinityandbeyondthestars · 17/11/2019 21:37

I find out in December whether I kee0 my job. So either it'll start well or badly. Want to make healthy changes to family diet and hopefully lose some weight. Pay off debts and sort out myself before I turn 40 in a couple of years

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/11/2019 21:39

Yes.

I will be buying my first home. I'm a single parent and it will mean so much to me to have something secure for myself and DS. And to get out of the horrible rented flat we have been in for 6 years.

My financial situation will improve too.

Also I turn 30 next year. Plenty of little things planned. Weekend breaks and a holiday to the Caribbean booked.

I hope everyone has an amazing 2020, I love reading positive stories.

PandasandRabbit · 17/11/2019 21:39

Hope 2020 brings all the changes you want tomatosoup sounds like you deserve some good things to happen next year after a tough 2019.

Not too much planned at the moment - I've booked our summer holiday to Thailand, Perhentian Islands and Borneo and hope to see lots of wildlife. DS may start a new school in September, he's ASD so we have to meet school first to see if they can manage him but otherwise sounds great for him. We have a weekend away in Bath planned for January. Have to finish work on old house and put in for sale.

AnyFucker · 17/11/2019 21:39

Yes. I am going to retire Smile

Chlosavxox · 17/11/2019 21:48

@Waxonwaxoff0 @PandasandRabbit I've been all around the Caribbean and I traveled around Thailand for a month this year - they're amazing places, hope you both enjoy your holidays Grin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/11/2019 21:57

@Chlosavxox thank you! It's my first time going, so excited.

Mummyshark2018 · 17/11/2019 22:08

Well done op sounds like you have lots to look forward to. I've nothing 'big' to look forward too but I need a quiet year- had a hectic 2 years, retraining, house extension, starting own business etc.

Have a few weekend trips booked and will book a better than usual family holiday once we decide where!

PandasandRabbit · 17/11/2019 22:20

Thanks Chlosavvok Sounds like you have a very exciting year planned. Hope it all goes well.

lastqueenofscotland · 17/11/2019 22:23

I’ve got a good for age place in the London marathon based on an a time I ran at a marathon years ago.
Determined to do it justice and get a belting time on the day Grin

ims0rrydarlin · 17/11/2019 22:28

I turn 30 in Dec so I’m including that in my ‘new year new me’ for 2020.
Getting married in June. We’ve only just set the date.
I’ll be moving from the Midlands to the SE. We bought a house a few years ago, did a massive extension and it’s finally complete now. Completely brand new so I’m excited to furnish and decorate!

Spent my 20s playing Mum to my siblings after our Mum died so I’m looking forward to starting a new decade and living for me.

Hope things go well for you!

SeperatedSwans · 17/11/2019 22:36

I'll be turning 30 in 2020. I am going to make my aim to survive financially as a lone parent. That's all I can do! Survive.

No major plans, no new me, just routine, repitition and the dread of "is there enough money in the bank".

Roll on 2020....😂

Gallivespian · 17/11/2019 22:48

I’ve given in my notice, am moving to another country with DH and DS in January, am taking a few months out professionally to write and take a new direction in work.

Pebbleinthesand · 17/11/2019 22:57

Hope you manage it all OP! Sounds like an amazing year.

2020 will be a year of turning 30, clearing credit card debt, holidaying in Scotland, potty training my little girl (not looking forward to that one) and hopefully getting pregnant sometime in the summer Grin

tomatosoup4 · 21/01/2020 14:03

Hi everyone, how's January treating you all so far?
Just wanted to update because I'm so proud of myself right now and it might not be big to some people but for someone who has very little self esteem and lacks confidence it's a big step. I've managed to managed to bag two job interviews this week after starting my job search last week. There not major jobs ones retail and the other is a housekeeping role but I'm literally so chuffed Smile even if I don't get the jobs at least I was recognised as me and not just mum Grin

@tomatosoup4 I just read the thread, very pleased to see your update (even though it was a week ago). Wishing you very good luck with job hunting and everything else - the more you do, the more your confidence will grow.
