I've not heard of many of the books either. Previous years, I have heard of the vast majority, just not read them.

I didn't enjoy it as much this year, half the books I'd never heard of!

Yes, I agree - I needed so many clues and so much Googling to solve it because some of the books were really obscure. I like to have to wrestle with it and then work out that it's Cold Comfort Farm and go, Oh of course! Instead, I was wrestling with it, giving up, coming on here, googling, finding the correct answer and going, Huh? That's a book?

I wouldn't say that many of the books were obscure, just newer books. There were a few that I may call comparatively obscure and two I didn't know at all but if you spend time on the MN 50 books threads, use other book forums or watch Booktube then it'd be more likely than not that you'd have heard of them because they were the subject of much discussion when newly released, and even now they ofte crop up. I haven't read the majority but the titles are familiar.

Well I've just played it again and found the riddle this time. I definitely got 20 last time but I'm stuck on 19! I can't get the bee one 🤔

I'm still stuck on the book shop, even though I've googled the name and it appeared to come up with an obvious book title, and the Daisy and Coco one even though I've googled every synonym for perfume/scent/fragrance. I'll go back through this thread and search for clues again.

Oops, it turns out I did have the Daisy and Coco one. It's the bookshop and District of Columbia I don't have. I've been away for the weekend and just picked it up again.

Captain- you have the name of the book in your synonyms - one word and first syllable is what cats do when happy, 2nd one when mumsnetters are angry
