For Colombia- where is the district of Columbia and what colour is the sign?

Wolfiefan · 14/11/2019 22:57

Oh FFS. Columbia vs Colombia. Blush

TattiePants · 14/11/2019 23:09

I thought I was pretty well read and read 70ish books a year but I found this year's so hard. I definitely wouldn't have managed without the clues. The farm one was driving me mad and I've read the first two books in the trilogy this year!

@SunburstsOrMarbleHalls Thank you! I finally got it :)

Cherrypieces · 15/11/2019 00:14

Need the answer to the blue car and then I can go to bed!

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 15/11/2019 00:27

What country would you see that car in originally?
What is on the car than would suggest said car being used for special occasion?

EBearhug · 15/11/2019 00:48

I got Angel's Butcher - because I thought in the Sussex town, the famous pub is the Angel. But it's actually the Mermaid. So I got the book title by being wrong...

narrucO1 · 15/11/2019 01:17

I have got 18 but it has taken me literally all day. I am stuck on the green pharmacy shop and the pink smoke. Anyone have any ideas ? Does anyone want any clues to the others ?

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 15/11/2019 03:06

name of person who owns pharmacy + another name for a pharmacy.
daisy and coco are types of what?

StitchesInTime · 15/11/2019 06:02

I wouldn’t have managed without the clues. I’ve never even heard of the butchers shop one, not the town or the book.

Squigean · 15/11/2019 06:39

@narrucO1

I am stuck on the green pharmacy shop
The owner of the pharmacy + another commonly used word for pharmacy. A combination that gives a similar, much older and now less commonly used word.

the pink smoke
The names are not part of the book name, but are names of what the book name is.

CountFosco · 15/11/2019 08:09

The car one I was stuck on for ages, the car is decorated for a special event that is at the start of a long what?

Trumpton · 15/11/2019 08:20

All done except the east west eggs . I even found the bonus clue fiddle .
Some help I beg you kind folk .

Trumpton · 15/11/2019 08:21

Fiddle X riddle ✅

TrickyD · 15/11/2019 08:51

All except the girl in the window, help please!

TattiePants · 15/11/2019 09:12

@Trumpton the eggs clue is the setting of the book rather than a clue to the title so if you haven't read the book, it won't help. Think 1920's book written by an American author that's also been made into a Leonardo DiCaprio film.

TattiePants · 15/11/2019 09:15

@TrickyD you've almost got it - think synonym of girl/lady/female.

narrucO1 · 15/11/2019 09:49

She is not a girl

BoneAppleTeaa · 15/11/2019 09:57

I managed to find them all thanks to the clues here, thank you!

narrucO1 · 15/11/2019 10:03

Thanks, I got the pink smoke one last night, I kept dismissing it thinking it wasn't relevant - God knows why! The other one, I know the book The
apothecary but that isn't it when I put it in and neither is Al's Apothecary?

perpetuallybewildered · 15/11/2019 10:11

InarrucO1 f you put the shop owner’s name with another word for pharmacist you’ll have it.

I’m still stumped by the D.C. clue, got all the others.

LifeSpectator · 15/11/2019 10:16

@narrucO1 your close but wrong word ,think Al-then word alternative to phamisist..

LifeSpectator · 15/11/2019 10:16

@perpetually bewildered, where is DC? and then look at the signs colour

LifeSpectator · 15/11/2019 10:35

im stuck on the farm one...

narrucO1 · 15/11/2019 10:49

Thanks. I got there, I was thinking of two separate words. Would you believe it, I have read the book but was dismissing it because of the historical practices which were not chemistry/pharmacy ?
