I thought this year's was a lot less fun than the last few years -- or am I imagining it that there used to be rather more 'witty' types of clue that were fun to solve, like the greengrocer clue in this year's puzzle?

The cake is a great clue to the girls on the swing - look what type it is

I'd prefer clues that don't require knowledge of the actual book. Ones that are more 'say what you see'

Finished at last. The swing was driving me daft!

The girls on the swing are eating a specific cake - that’s a big clue. I got it without knowing the book just by playing with related words

I’m at 19 and going out of my mind with the Daisy/Coco one - even with the Chanel & Marc Jacobs clues! Please help so I can put this down and do something productive...!!

God that was infuriating! I got about 5 off the top of my head, these brilliant clues here, googling and searching several book sites got me there in the end. Feel a bit wound up now though 🤣

And breathe...….. done. Some of those clues were a bit ridic. The Angel's Butcher thing being a total red herring (I think).

That was the only reason I got that one @PerspicaciaTick. I haven't read the book but saw the ads for the TV programme.

The Angel's Burtchers one: never heard of the book. I got it purely by googling ham and the grain beneath it (which I'd have considered wheat if I hadn't have been pushed in the American sandwich direction).

Anyway book seems like it's based in Los Angeles. This I'm guessing is why its Angel's Butchers.

Having looked up the book now I've no interest in reading in, despite all my friends who have read it appear to have loved it (as seen on goodreads).

Finally finished. I didn't enjoy it as much this year, half the books I'd never heard of! The best clues were the bee and the tiger.

Has anyone actually won the book tokens?
