First or last interview appointment?

Have been offered an interview this morning, and need to book my own slot.

Do you think it's better to be the first one they see? Or the last?

Or does it make no difference Grin

Doesn't make a huge difference but I'd probably go for last. That way your interview will be most recent when they are making their decision, so it should be memorable.

@buzzkills that's what DH said! Thank you Smile

First one is the best IMO. i'm an internal recruiter and do lots of interviews. Some managers are jaded by the end of the process 🙄

I had an interview on Tuesday and picked the first slot to a) get it over with so I didn't stress all day b) hopefully wow them so everyone else had to be better than me. Not sure if b) worked but I got the job!

AliceLittle · 14/11/2019 11:41

First, so you get get it over with and not build up anxiety over the day. Plus the interviewers are usually bored of it by the end of the day.

firsttimebuyer20 · 14/11/2019 11:43

Nooo I've booked the last one now!

Ok I'm not going to panic... Just need to go and lift their mood and wow them! Plenty of prep between now and then Smile

I’m just going in for an interview I like being the first

Blackandwhitehorse · 14/11/2019 14:46

I’m sure you’ll smash it, but but first can be better as interviewers can lose concentration by the end of the day, plus the nerves don’t build up as the interviewee.

First always if I have a choice - you set the standard by which all other candidates are judged. Worked for me 18tmths ago - got the job!
