I listen to a lot of audio books, mostly ya fantasy. I'm ill and they give me a lot of entertainment and escapism. I've worked through a lot of the more commonly recommended ones though so thought I'd ask here for help, please? Might give others some ideas too.

I've "read"
All Cassandra Clare's shadowhunter books
Leigh bardugo's grishaverse trilogy, six of crows duology and ninth house
Sarah J Maas throne of glass and court of thorns and roses series
These 3 authors' books have been my favourite to listen to.

Richelle Mead vampire academy
Laini Taylor Daughter of smoke and bone (only the first, wasn't my favourite)
Patrick Rothfuss name of the wind and wise man's fear
Marie Lu Warcross duology
Jeanine Frost Night huntress series (a lot of sex though!)
Jonathan Stroud Lockwood &co series
Maggie Stiefvater scorpio races, raven boys series, wolves of mercy falls series
Holly Black Curse workers series, Folk of the air
Sally green half bad
Angie Sage Septimus Heap series
Julie Kagawa shadow of the fox
Pittacus Lore series
Mortal engines
Alex sparrow time riders
Melissa Marr Wicked Lovely series
All of Joss Stirling's available in audio (sadly not many)
Twilight, hunger games, maze runner, Harry Potter, Inheritance cycle, dark materials, a lot of Terry Pratchett
And a fair few more but these are most of the recent ones I can remember/find on my audio libraries... Thanks!

Strange the Dream, also by Laini Taylor but quite different to Daughter of Smoke and Bone

I love the Dark is Rising, that's a 4 or 5 part series I think?

Please, everyone, read The Earthsea Quartet by Ursula Le Guin. Absolutely life changing!

Mark Lawrence Prince of Thorns trilogy, recommended to me by DS, brilliant.

I'd also recommend Patrick Ness chaos walking trilogy.

Any Neil Gaiman, he reads the audio books himself and is a great storyteller. His Norse Myths are a great listen if you want short stories to dip in and out of.

I've just consolidated all the responses into a list of 35 authors and series (some with more than 1 series) that I haven't listened to, many of which I'd not heard of at all. Hopefully a few weeks of happy listening in that lot Grin
