I went into a Chester store with my 2 year to get some grocery shopping in the morning. When we arrived at the check out one of the scanners was hanging down and my 2 year old reached to grab it (as any toddler would!) The lady on the checkout reached over and snatched it out of his hands then said he shouldn't touch that!

She had cut his hand and drew blood, where she had aggressively taken the scanner back. To this I replied that she had hurt him!

I then approached a member of the team and asked if they was a manager and explained the incident to which they replied "she is having a bad day"

I then left the superstore as by this time I was absolutely fuming.

I had not been offered a first aider, not been asked to do an incident report, absolutely nothing was done which I believe did not follow protocol.

I did ring the store and spoke to a manager once I was home. Who had confirmed the incident as he had checked cameras.

I have had an email stating they will not comment on liability but would like to offer £50 compensation.

What should I do?
