Clipped a wing mirror

So this morning on the school run, I accidentally clipped someone's wing mirror with mine. I must have just brushed it as I didn't hear anything (DC's singing and chatting in the back) stopped at a set of traffic lights and the woman who's car is was started shouting through the window that i'd clipped it, I was genuinely shocked as I didn't realise and apologised numerous times, then she put her window up and drove off. I'm just not sure what to do now, I drove back past on the way back to see which house it was, and she's a parent at the same school as my DC, although i've never actually seen her before, I see children in the same uniform go into the house. I don't know if I should pop a card through her door apologising again, knock on or just leave it be. We don't live in the best area and I really don't want any trouble. Especially if we're going to walk/drive past her house twice a day.

I've done this. There is a pretty big bang because they are both on springs. Are you sure you didn't hear anything? How did you know which house it was if you didn't know you had hit it?

In my case I couldn't stop until some lights, had my window wound down to apologise and ask if they want to stop and exchange details. They just shouted at us (understandably i think - it was a brand new car!) and drove off. I reported to the police on-line in case there was any comeback. Not heard anything a year later. The glass wasn't broken despite the mirror being folded back.

She drove off - don't worry about it (unless the mirror was hanging off when you went back).

I recognised her car parked up on the way back, it's only a short journey to school, we normally walk but the rain was really bad this morning. I definitely didn't hear anything, I didn't even have the radio on, so apart from the chatting in the back, there was nothing to block out a bang. Someone has done the same to me before so I have an idea of what it might have sounded like, but I honestly didn't know. Neither mirror was pushed forward or back, I think I must have just tapped it. I'm just worried that she'll see me another time and kick off

She won't kick off, don't worry. She'll forget about it. No harm done.

@AmIThough you're right, no harm done. I'm sure she just wanted to rant, there was definitely no hanging off mirrors so hopefully she's already forgotten about it!
