I was one of their biggest supporters on here. Good prices, great delivery and easy online seruve. Did my weekly shop there for years.
However I noticed increasingly that my “favourites” were always out of stock and the only online choices were more expensive and little choice. They then put the minimum spend up to £40 this summer so I switched to Tesco while minimum is also £40 but I get points. Plus with a Tesco delivery package it works out cheaper every month..

Asda had a few good offers this week and a specific item I wanted so put in my first order in months . I added a few bits over the weekend and surprise surprise one item was showing as out of stock in my basket. Thinking they would substitute I pressed on. Today I have seen a £3.00 charge added the final bill comes without the item and us less than £40.

When I phoned up all I can do is refuse the order. Said I was happy to pay 46p to make it up to £40 but not the whole £3 ( plus £3 delivery )charge. Nope. So somebody has to drive all the way out with the order, turn around unload it again at the depot and probably chuck the fresh stuff away because it’s best the same day and they won’t sell it by the time he gets back and they’ll lose my £40. How does that make sense?

F off ASDA and your rubbish service. Rant over.

I think you are partly in the wrong. You can't order an item that they are saying is out of stock. They would only substitute once the order has been completed and then the item was out of stock on the day of delivery. It makes it clear that they charge £3 if the order is under the £40.

I do agree that they could have cancelled the order however how close to delivery did you phone. If it was the day of delivery your order may already have been on the van and out for delivery.

The item that was out of stock was already in my basket. It was in and then out of stock repeatedly. Which obviously made a difference to the total bill.
Do when I my last amend in was back in stock as a I checked the final price. Obviously it must have gone back out if stock by the time it the time it took to press amend.

First world problems but it’s 7% extra on the bill for me. They don’t need to cancel it....just refund the extra £2.54 basket charge. ( happy to pay 44p to make it up to £40).

I work for this company ..and I can tell you it's the worst. Can't wait to leave and would never order on line from them. The cleanliness....or lack of it has to be seen to be believed.

Asda have seriously pissed me off lately, I've just cancelled my delivery pass with them.
They have failed to deliver nappies (as though they seriously expect me to believe they have absolutely no nappies of the correct size in stock, like hell, they just didn't want to upgrade me to Pampers), they have sent me baby formula with stupidly short dates. They have sent my goods an hour late, I have reached a stage where I'm angry before the delivery even arrives as I know it'll be late / wrong / generally shit.
Asda can kiss my arse.
