I think of myself as quite liberal re personal relationships and am of an age when I've seen and heard it all - till CS came onto the scene.

I feel it's really inappropriate that as BJs mistress/ other woman, she is invited to an attends 'state' functions when BJ is not yet divorced.

She's been to Balmoral and there she was at the Remembrance evening at the Albert Hall.

I feel she is out of order.

I would be accepting of their relationship if it were low key, if she hadn't moved into No 10 and if he kept her out of the limelight till his divorce was finalised. I feel incredibly sorry for his soon to be ex wife and his children who have supported him for 20 + years and are now usurped by a woman (same age as my own DD.)

I just feel it's all wrong and someone in his position ought to know better and wait till they are legally free to flaunt a new relationship to the public.

Bluntness100 are you CS!
You seem incredibly irate about this.

Maybe you should read what I wrote instead of summing up what you think I wrote.

I don't quite get your points I'm afraid, I said that in the 'normal world' away from the public eye and public office, and even in it to an extent, I am liberal about relationships- I believe in divorce and even if that comes from meeting someone else while married, that's ok. Did you miss that bit from me?

What I am saying is that I think it is very inappropriate and downright insensitive to be with BJ at formal state events when you started out as the Other Woman and BJ is not divorced ( supposedly as it's very acrimonious and who can blame his lawyer wife.)

The fact that his wife was a mistress before she was his wife is no defence and doesn't make any pain she feels any less. The poor woman is recovering from an operation for cancer and he meanwhile was off with CS.

You can try to say oh this is ok, he's PM he can do what he likes. Well yes he can, but that doesn't mean his behaviour or HERS is commendable or we can't feel it's all rather tacky.

She clearly has no conscience at all or she'd keep out of the limelight till his divorce was through.

OP, what’s the relevance of Symonds being the same age as YOUR daughter? That she is young and there is a huge age gap with BJ, that's what.

As ever, Boris Johnson is the unmitigated cunt here.

As for Carrie, she'll get hers. It's just a matter of time.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/11/2019 17:11

As ever, Boris Johnson is the unmitigated cunt here.

Can't better that!

I don't expect politicians to be perfect (just as well) but I do expect them to abide by basic standards of decency towards their own nearest and dearest, and Johnson has signally failed this test. He takes nothing seriously except getting his own way with the minimum of effort, no matter what the cost to other people. I don't know whether he's immoral or amoral, all I know is I am in despair at having a person as morally suspect as him as our Prime Minister.

DawnOfTheDeadleg · 11/11/2019 17:11

Near enough everything Johnson does is tacky and/or inappropriate. I'm relieved he's got this far without trying to hump the Queen, tbh.

Conservatives have traded in morals and decency for a few grubby years more of power

LimeRedBanana · 11/11/2019 17:18

There is no such thing as 'inappropriate' any more. Anything goes.

SerendipityJane · 11/11/2019 17:23

I wonder what the press would say about a female prime minister who had children by different fathers, had been unfaithful in every relationship, had moved her latest fling in with her to number 10 after arguing so loudly neighbours called the police, whose children no longer spoke to her etc. I have probably left something out.

You damn well know that no woman would get within a million miles of being PM with a private life like that.

Seems all the "equality" of the past 50 years has done is enable slimeballs like Boris and done fuck all for women.

Pieceofpurplesky · 11/11/2019 17:25

I'm waiting for the election boosting pregnancy announcement ...

Bluntness100 · 11/11/2019 17:30

are you CS!You seem incredibly irate about this

Eh, no, on both counts, 🤣

But I don't do judgey in these matters and the bottom line is irrelevant of what went before he is no longer in his marriage and he is entitled to be with whomever he pleases when he has left the marriage.

The fact you don't like it, you frown upon it, and think she should wear a scarlet letter on her chest is frankly irrelevant.

Bouledeneige · 11/11/2019 17:50

Yes you sound old fashioned. And this is precisely what happened when wife no 2 replaced wife number 1.

I think we are all pretty realistic that politicians, royals and celebs are just like the rest of the population when it comes to affairs and infidelity. So hopefully the tabloids will stop using revelations about them as a cheap misery tactic to drive sales.

Boris is a lying wanker though.

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 11/11/2019 18:04

You damn well know that no woman would get within a million miles of being PM with a private life like that.

Exactly. But I get the feeling Boris' antics go down well and are probably popularity boosters with a type of voter - male and female voter. At worst people are indifferent, as shown on this thread. I usually lack the mental space to care; however in our PM's case I am Judgy McJudgyFace Grin

I remember what I left out of my reverse... that alleged issue with the alleged stripper allegedly involving sex and public funds

Alwaysrainsonme · 11/11/2019 18:10

YANBU. I find it incredibly distasteful that he is flaunting his infidelity. To me it is a constant reminder that he is a liar and cheat.

LimeRedBanana · 11/11/2019 18:48

But I don't do judgey in these matters

If you can't judge the person leading your country, then you might as opt out of life. Confused

I judge him as severely wanting, and am just thankful I'm not lumbered with him as my country's leader.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/11/2019 18:56

It's not precisely what happened when wife #2 replaced wife #1 because there were no children of the first marriage. That makes a difference to me. He's tried to duck out of acknowledging the children born during his marriage to other women - we don't even know if there were one or two.

Then there's the sleaziness of having affairs with much younger women. He's not ageing well, looks like a slob, rarely seems to bother combing his hair, but when he looks for a bit on the side he turns to attractive young women not much older than his daughters. Vile.

LASH38 · 11/11/2019 19:30

It amuses and disgusts me that his wiki page says 5 or 6 children. This man is representing us all.

I also cannot help but feel, what if this was a woman (as detailed above) or Corbyn or Lammy or Soubry?
They would be absolutely crucified, not a stone left unturned.

Look at the ruckus over Meghan Markle being a divorcee.

Privilege in all its glory.

lljkk · 11/11/2019 19:36

Supposedly BJ deliberately ruffles his hair before going in front of cameras. he thinks it's part of his charm.

BJ the sex pest.. adulturer .. and liar. And clown. (sigh)

If he can't keep a promise to his wife then why does anyone think he can keep his word in politics?

NoHummus · 11/11/2019 19:41

I just wonder what Boris Johnson's wife and children think, seeing Carrie and the dog paraded about. I hope they can detach from it but it must be hard to avoid completely.

NoHummus · 11/11/2019 19:44

I'm waiting for the election boosting pregnancy announcement ...

Carrie is only 31. I hope to God that if she does want kids, she's got enough sense to have them in 5 years' time with someone else!

LadyLucyLocket · 12/11/2019 07:50

But I don't do judgey in these matters @Bluntness100 So what DO you do judgy on, pray?

If you have no opinion about the PM and his morality what do you care about?

You can't fling politicians, royalty and film stars into the same boat. They have different .

This is a woman who within months has met the Queen and lives in No 10 yet her 'partner' ( she is referred to as 'girlfriend' in the media by the way) accompanies him to high profile, serious state events and yet he is still married. (Oh and yes we know a divorce is underway.)

Had he not got the train crash of relationships before and she was the love of his life it might just be acceptable - but only just- whereas she is most likely just another one of many women he will love and leave. She's getting too much exposure considering the circs.

😂😂😂

Milicentbystander72 · 12/11/2019 08:23

I can't get worked up about Politicians private lives tbh.
BJ I think has 2 failed marriages (that overlapped!) and now this relationship with CS. I don't really care too much. I care more about his plans on policies.
Corbyn is on his third marriage. Ok he's not got a 'mistress' but I'm not bothered. Again, it's policies and plans that's important.

Personally, I'm thankful that we are over the morality political police of the 90's. I remember hardly a month went by without some cabinet minister or MP cringingly standing on his front door step with his wife and children stood with him (looking miserable through gritted teeth) having to apologise for an affair. Ew.

Remember the info coming out that John Major was shagging Edwina Curry? Ew ew.

I can't get all ruffled about it. We have more important things to consider.

Reallybadidea · 12/11/2019 08:49

Supposedly BJ deliberately ruffles his hair before going in front of cameras.

Allegedly, he now has an assistant to do it for him Grin

smemorata · 12/11/2019 08:57

Yabu to expect better of BJ. But you are not wrong!
