Name changing - is it reversible

If you name change, is your old name reserved for to go back to, if you want to?

On MN yes... once it’s yours it’s yours for life...or until they have some kind of name amnesty

In real life ‘yes’ because everyone could be called Jane smith if they wanted to (well in most countries anyway).

Yea! Just log in with the last name you used and then go to your settings in top right hand corner and you will be given the option to see your nickname history, just click the one you want to revert back to.

You can also use an old username just for a single post by typing it in (precisely) over the greyed out username when adding a post.

Every now and then Mumsnet "auction" off (for no money) names that have not been used in years. So if you ever become partial to a nickname, bring it out of the closet every year ...
