Can you be sectioned in a outpatient psychiatrist appointment

If you are deemed a risk or is section 5.2 only able to be used if already in a hospital setting

I know the amount taken was double over the recommendation. She’s not said which section I assumed it was a 5.2.

She’s told me it was a section 4 but her care coordinator isn’t an amhp so unsure how that happened

There is likely an AMHP in the building for outpatients.

Why are you asking this? Do you not believe her?

Yeah, it felt like between a rock and a hard place!

To be fair, the admission really helped, I was safe and got better, and I felt supported ( and I made wooden photo frames and a kitchen roll holder 😃) I made a full recovery, but I'll never forget how it felt, all those people rocking up on my doorstep!

I’m just curious how it worked. I always assumed to be sectioned you needed a more in depth assessment and usually even if someone’s health is at risk they get a choice of seeking medical care

Sometimes it's very apparent that it's needed @User43245 and sometimes it takes hours to assess. I've been to a 6 hour assessment before as we were trying to give someone the chance to regain capacity but then others are very obvious.

She’s also saying she was left on her own in the cmht while she waited for an ambulance surely if she was sectioned they couldn’t leave her on her own

If she's in a room and can't leave then she would be on regular obs but not always constant.

It's very complicated and no two situations are the same
