Climate change and what we can do

We watched seven worlds one planet today with DCs 8 and 5 today. The eldest was shocked by the deforestation and melting of ice caps etc and wants to do something.

His first idea was "Ask the manager of the tree cutting company to stop"

Obviously this won't work so I'm here asking for ideas that we can quite easily implement to do our bit. I've started explaining to him about our carbon footprint etc and sustainable palm oil.

I have been cutting down on single use plastic. There is a climate change topic on mumsnet, and an ethical living topic too. Sorry I don't know how to link to them for you. I've picked up some tips from there.

I'm trying to cut down my personal consumption in general, using charity shops to buy clothes where possible. I also think I need to buy less products containing palm oil, but I'm not sure where to begin.

I'm thinking we go veggie for a couple of days a week at least. Try and make a start with palm oil and yes, cut down on single use plastics.
