Influencers?

Can someone more cool than me please explain about Insta Influencers or "Momfluencers" as I saw the other day?
What is the point of them? They seem to have thousands of followers and think they're celebs. Why?!
It all confuses me.

I suppose it’s what you’re into - maybe you like racing drivers or tattoo artists and you’d follow them as you’re interested in what they do. I follow some, but not all of the mummy bloggers because I have children aged about the same and you can relate to them.

I don’t mind the fitness ones as they are good for finding new routines.

But the purely cosmetic, materialistic ones really piss me off (and I do not follow them).

Ie look at my new lip fillers here’s where you can buy them.
Look at my white teeth swipe up for 10% off
Look at my new tiny puppy he’s a PooCockDor or some shit

Thank you, I can understand the fitness, cooking ones etc in a way but the mum ones still puzzle me.
The ones I've seen are as time describes, all flogging smoothies, botox or teeth with staged photos of their kids.
Why do they think people are that interested in them that they'll buy what they're posing with?
Real celebs I can get, but some woman who thinks she's important tagging her outfit, usually from h&m, I don't get.
