Roblox sage for 7yo?

7 replies

malfoylovespotter · 10/11/2019 09:36

My 7yo DS is desperate for Roblox as apparently all his mates have it.

He's be playing on an iPad.

Apple store says 12+ but other review platforms have a variety of ages from 7+.

From what I have found it seems that the issues are the chat? But that can be disabled!

Any advice?
Am I crazy to consider it? Thanks

No idea where 'sage' came from Blush

My DC plays and it seems to be a gentle, interesting game. Lots of variety

@ChampagneCommunist
How old is your DC?

My DD's age 8 and 12 play it. The 8yo knows (we'll both of them
Do) she is not allowed to accept and friend requests from people she doesn't know. Loads of her class play it.

I find that actually they seem to do quite a lot of IT awareness on school so she is quite aware of safety issues and conscious of her account being 'hacked' as she puts it!

It's OK if chat is disabled but a lot of the games are shooting etc so depends how you feel about that.

@malfoylovespotter 11 now, but been playing for about 3 years

Yes you can disable chat and you can reject any friend requests from people you don't know. Be warned there are in-game purchases and you may well be pestered for robux! Both my 8 and 10 year olds play on it and have not experienced anything inappropriate etc.
