Coping with fireworks?

I'm really struggling tonight, they are so close to my house. Last year I had a lit rocket thrown through my window which landed and exploded next to me. Was never bothered about them before then. People round here are idiots with them - haven't been able to open my windows for a month, been thrown in shops, peoples faces, car with a baby in etc
I have all the windows shut and TV on but I feel like I'm just a sitting duck Sad

There are some real arseholes out there .
A few days before the 5th I saw some scrots aiming rockets st a OAPs residential home .
I called 111 to warn the police / fire but I couldn't do anything eles ( there was to many of them for me to feel safe tackling )

Can you put something against/ blocking your letter box ? Keep your windows & curtains shut and turn the tv / radio up , use head phones if you have them .

ClientListQueen · 09/11/2019 22:06

No letter box thankfully. Blinds are closed, and yes they threw one in the window of a local care home too
I've not slept properly the past week which isn't helping my nerves

They are shits !
I am fairly tough most of the time but them little swines scared me.

Put some rock music on loud ( imagine dragons my fave ) and say sorry to the neighbours tomorrow

Do you need / want your windows open in November in any case?

I get that not everyone loves fireworks but it seems like maybe something else is going on with you op. Do you struggle with MH? I hope you can reassure yourself that if homes is essentially sealed against the outside world, you can come to no harm from nearby fireworks.

*if your home is

ClientListQueen · 09/11/2019 22:58

@Cleanmywindows nope, just probably some left over anxiety from last year
I was drying my hair, got too hot so opened the window and next thing I heard a noise and felt heat and saw the rocket. I got out with the cat as it exploded which destroyed my living room, I had about 5 seconds. I think anyone would be worried after that?

I like to open my windows occasionally for fresh air when I get home from work even if it's cold but the fireworks have been going off from sort of 2pm (they set them off in daylight)
Think I'm worried if they are aimed at the windows then it will break them

@ClientListQueen
I hope you managed to have a good nights sleep .

I agree it is nice to be able to open windows sometimes even in the cold weather , esp if your coking.
I am not surprised you are worried about rockets after one going of next to you , that must of been very scary.
Hopefully they wont be setting any more off now .
