Cardiology

Does anyone know what to expect from first cardiologist appointment.
I have been referred due to having funny turns, sweaty, clammy, tight chest, very nauseas and almost passing out. Gp has already said bp and pulse is ok or was at my appointment. But also have family history of heart attacks and irregular beats.

I had a history taken including family history. Blood pressure taken and an ECG done. I had previously had blood tests, ECGs and an echocardiogram. Cardiologist told me his initial thoughts of diagnosis and followed it up with GP letter with treatment and medication recommendations.

I am having bloods done at gp along with ecg before referral to cardiologist.
What is the echocardiogram, and also do they let partners into your appointment.

The echocardiogram is when they scan your heart so they can see how it is pumping - it’s a bit like a baby scan but on your chest! Did you mean can your partner come into the cardiologist apppointment (definitely) or echocardiography gram (I don’t know - I should imagine it’s ok but my husband was at work). The British Heart Foundatin website has very good information about tests in the information and support section.
