Spider solitaire computer game

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get a hand held or standalone version of spider solitaire, the computer game?
My mum loves it, but her ancient laptop which she plays it on has died. She doesn’t want or need a new laptop, but wants to be able to play it.

I searched online, but all seems to be apps.

Any ideas?

I bought a handheld solitaire game for my father years ago for the same reason and when it died I tried to find a replacement but they'd got ridiculously expensive on Amazon/eBay, around £30-£35!!! So in the end I got him a small Kindle fire and set it all up so he can easily find the game, and now he's learnt to use it for web surfing and Audible too.

Does it need WiFi for the kindle?

If you have an old phone you can play it without a sim.

I'm not sure, you would need wifi to set it up and download the app but after that I'm not sure if it would work without the WiFi.

Found the handheld game - £70 now!!!

A kindle version might be good actually.

Does it look like the Microsoft version?

She wants one that has the same format as the one on the computer. I found those handheld ones in amazon but reckon they are too different.

Thanks all. I reckon getting her a kindle fire, and then introducing more games etc on that might be the way forward.

Yes, it looks very similar.

I think it takes a little while to get used to the Kindle fire when you've only known a laptop but then it's quite easy to use.

This is the app, if you scroll through the pictures you can see what it looks like on screen.

Thanks for the link, I've just sent it to my own Fire to have a go, love Spider Solitaire myself!

Thanks, I’ll take a look.

I went with the Kindle Fire option for my mum: she's an impatient Luddite with the focus of a gnat, but once she finally got the hang of it (tbf, it is different to playing with a mouse on the laptop Grin) she hasn't looked back.
