Ive an office. We go there to work. No radio. No TV. No music. Phone system has a sort of hold music, royalty and copyright free that came with the system.
I keep getting phone calls from PPL PRS insisting we speak to them about a music licence. I've told them weve checked their website and the Gov.uk website and don't need one. They say its up to them to decide that and insist on speaking in detail about it.
I dont want to do that. I am particularly aware of providing detailed information to people who simply ring me up. I dont know what questions they will ask but, I suspect if they are like the other high pressure people out there, they will get progressively more aggressive as they go on. I fear they will ask for personal data and then send a bill in a sort of "car parking company fashion" leaving us to argue it with no real recourse.
On the other hand, Ive nothing to hide. Im absolutely sure we dont need a licence. But Im simply not convinced they arent scammers.
Any advice or experience?
Its a sad place we have got to when you cant trust anyone who phones.
