Rhubarb schnapps recipe

I've got a recipe for rhubarb schnapps which uses vodka. My family are more gin fans so I'm wondering if it would work with gin instead?

The vodka is a flavourless alcohol base, that's all.

I'm sure it would work with gin, but thr flavour would be different.

I make lots of flavoured vodkas and you wouldn't know they were vodka based when done.
