My son 12 loves to play roblox.
He played it on his tablet bit that's old and is slow so he played it on my laptop which then didn't work because it used all of the memory or storage ( I'm useless at this)
So we were told to get a gaming laptop (how much!!!!)
Then I found out you can play roblox on an xbox one I think but my son isn't that fussed about getting one. He loved playing on my laptop so I wonder if a pc would be better?

I'm totally clueless about this and I was kinda hoping he'd want the xbox or a new tablet to play it on but it's the key board and mouse that enable better play?!
Help!

You can fit up a keyboard and mouse to an Xbox.

It’s entirely up to you what platform you choose - but the Xbox will be cheaper as a one off although you’ll have to renew the Gold membership annually (think it’s about £50).

Personally I prefer it on Xbox as I can more easily see what’s going on.

The downside to the Xbox is he'll need a TV to play it on whereas the laptop and tablet are portable.

I'm not sure how Roblox works but I thought it was online so not sure how it fills the memory up, my daughter plays out most days on an old Amazon fire tablet and hasn't had any problems.

We are planning to get him a tv too so that's no problem

Had a chat with ds and he's said he really isn't bothered about xbox or any consoles
He loves his tablet so I think I'll just get him a new one but a better one.

I have this one and it's a cheaper gaming PC but it works great. I use it for GTA which requires alot of RAM and this cheaper version of a gaming tower handles it no problem. It works with a TV too because I had to wait for my monitor to come in. It works great with Minecraft too.

If you are looking at gaming PCs 8gb of RAM is where you should start for gaming. Anything under doesn't work well or may not work at all. Also the graphics card is important aswell.

Consoles are easier because it's all built in and the games are designed to work with the spec. PC games have a lowest and recommended spec because you get custom or prebuilt which vary in spec. I prefer PC because you can do more and modify games. Also you can get indie games and use different platforms. I am a PC gamer and DH is PS4.

Thank you that's helpful
Gives me some idea as I'm really clueless but not interested in learning, I realise that sounds terrible but I only need to know so I can buy the right thing
Thanks again

You can only add more if the processor will take it. I just know some of the stuff because DH explained it to me when I was looking for one. Argos have some lower end gaming computers that will work for Roblox.

If the prices of a gaming pc are too high, it might be worth looking at a refurbished one. I got mine for £330 when I'd have paid over £2k for the same spec "brand new". All the components are new parts, just the shell which is not. Mine was one that had been sent back because it apparently had a scratch down the side, but I've never been able to see it. Works brilliantly two years on, and I play games with high graphics. Also, adding more ram to laptops can be difficult because of space within.
