So I'm 40 weeks +2 - been fitted with a balloon this morning, i think this is a fairly new way of inducing labour. I was put on a monitor for about 20-30mins this morning to make sure all ok with baby. After midwife examined me and after 3 sweeps (within the last 10 days), I was still only 2cm and cervix were still longish. So we went for balloon induction. Although uncomfortable while she was putting the tube in, then adding 80ml of water to inflate the balloon it wasn't painful. So now I'm home - for next 24hrs, unless it brings labour on, or my waters break or even if the balloon falls out. But my god it's so uncomfortable, in my bum (like a constant need to poo - sorry if tmi) also feels like I have the worst period pains ever!!
Anyone else been inducded with this method - how did you get on????
