Does this look like a mouse dropping to you?

Do you think this is a mouse dropping or a piece of burnt rice. I'm only suggesting the rice because it's next to a piece of rice. I'm terrified of mice. 😔

Is it in water? If it were a mouse dropping in water it would rehydrate, lighten and break up.

I'm petrified of them also. I think if it was droppings, there'd be more of them.

We currently have the smell of dead mouse downstairs under the floorboards and I'm hoping it was one that walked in, nibbled at the bait and expired and not part of a bigger problem. We live above our business so we do have bait everywhere.

It's difficult to work out from that photo, what I would say though is that you very rarely find a single dropping, also it looks like there's some black powdery stuff around it which doesn't fit with it being a dropping.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 08/11/2019 13:38

It looks to be the same size and shape as the piece of rice next to it, so I'm going burnt rice. Mouse droppings are usually smaller than that. That said, why do you have a cup with a single piece of rice and a mystery blackened object in it? What's the context here Grin

DontMakeMeShushYou · 08/11/2019 13:47

Nope. I was going to say it looks more like a carpet moth cocoon (the white thing on the left), and possibly dead carpet moth larvae (the black thing) but since you've mentioned rice it's most likely to be that.

No. Unless there's some, not one, not mouse dropping.

CandiceSucksCandy · 08/11/2019 16:13

Rice.
Mice poo is smaller, more like black dots.

Namechangeoflife · 08/11/2019 22:05

There’s always more than one dropping so my vote is for burnt rice.

Here's a link that shows a size comparison between rice, mouse and rat droppings droppings comparison
