Owen Wilson in the Sofology ad. I can’t look at him without feeling rage.

Trainspotting, Margaret Thatcher?

wanderings · 09/11/2019 21:41

@TrainspottingWelsh is right - his grinning face was on the screen every time he was mentioned on the news. Thatcher was indeed in the top five of the 100 most hated Britons, but she's not the one I was thinking of. Hint: she was very much a victim of her own success, absolutely pilloried in the press for many things, among other things being the "queen of chavness", and lots of people hated her face. But I'm not sure if we're allowed to mention her on this thread!

TrainspottingWelsh · 09/11/2019 21:45

Think I've got it. As I don't want the thread to disappear if it's a name that mustn't be said, would Emerald and Good be a close guess?

lightlypoached · 09/11/2019 21:48

You've heard the French expression 'tete a claque'? Literally the head I'd like to punch.

I have quite a list of them. Grin

wanderings · 09/11/2019 21:50

@TrainspottingWelsh Smile I had to think about your cryptic reference though!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2019 22:03

I searched Queen of Chavness and it gave up a well known WAG but she is alive .

But I think from Trainspotting post I know who you mean.

TrainspottingWelsh · 09/11/2019 22:04

Possibly outed myself as the writer of the daily mail crossword there!

WombleishofTheThighs · 10/11/2019 00:05

Took a bit of thinking, but I've got who it is now, Trainspotting and Wanderings Grin

There was a TV programme about her recently. Not that I watched it.

LiterallyCantBelieveIt · 10/11/2019 00:15

Sam Smith

INeedMoreCats · 10/11/2019 00:29

Rebecca Long-Bailey. There is just something very odd about the way she looks. Weird eyebrows and a very small mouth. Not that she can help it of course but it just looks odd. And she talks utter bollocks, which she can help.

Richard Burgon - my MP and was Shadow Justice Secretary until last week. He's a very clever and well educated bloke, I've spoken to him on a few occasions but he just comes across as totally thick when interviewed. He's not like that at all face to face. I don't know what happens to him when they point a camera at him. It's very odd.

Amanda Holden. I just can't stand her. She's not funny or entertaining. I can't watch anything she's involved in.

APJ1 · 10/11/2019 02:49

James Arthur.

Starksforthewin · 10/11/2019 05:45

God, SO many!

@AmIScary made me laugh with that description of Rafa Nadal! Add in his bloody moronic grunts and he deserves a double slapping.

Mine are
Meghan ‘Actress’ Markle, especially when she adopts that gormless face looking at Prince Harry

Tess Daly

Rees Mogg, especially when he was lying down on the Commons front bench

Nigel Slater (wash your bloody hair and clean your nails)

Gregg The Greedy Wallace

Farage , obviously

Paul Hollywood, especially when he shakes hands with the bakers as if bestowing a gift from God.

Shirley Ballas

wanderings · 10/11/2019 07:41

@WombleishofTheThighs That's the one. Wink I watched that documentary as well, which was very much on her side.

Anyone remember Jeremy Beadle? He had one of those faces which was a little too expressive, especially when he always said "sadly, that really is the end of the show" at the end of You've been Framed.

WombleishofTheThighs · 10/11/2019 10:35

Jeremy Beadle, yes! He was so creepy.

alltoomuchrightnow · 10/11/2019 14:20

thenightsky · 10/11/2019 15:05

Frankie Boyle. Urgh.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 10/11/2019 15:28

Chris Pine.
Yes the star trek reboot was terrible anyway, but did they have to put someone in who looked even more annoying that William Shatner? Hey, you can put him on the list too.
I would also happily punch Alex Jones.

FadingStar · 10/11/2019 15:48

Omg 😂 it's the same width as his nose when he smiles

😂😂 It actually is! I can't stand looking at it. Couldn't watch Family Fortunes when he presented because of his mouth.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 10/11/2019 15:51

Simon Calder the travel expert. Expert at telling people what they shouldn't have done after they've done it.

Pitterpatterpettysteps · 10/11/2019 16:12

Gordon Brown always used to do some awful thing with his mouth between sentences, I couldn't bear to look at him.

Also Ed Balls.

missmouse101 · 10/11/2019 19:16

Yes pitterpatter, I noticed Gordon Brown doing that. It was godawful. I couldn't take in a word he was saying, instead just waiting for that gob opening, lip twitching movement.Halloween Angry
