Weird question, can down coats make me sweaty??

I always get a down coat for winter as I really feel the cold and have to stand watching dc play football through the winter. When I walk into town or to school, which isn’t that far, my body gets quite sweaty yet my hands and face will be cold? Is it ju at me or could it be the fact I wear a down coat? Thinking about buying just a padded version of what I have but then worry I’ll get cold?!

Try TK Maxx. I've gone from down to padded/synthetic filling. It's just as warm, easier to dry and no feathers poke out 😊 I think I saw Michael Kors ones on the app today, and they're belted.

It is difficult to find something that works and I'm in the industry. Finding a jacket that's affordable, warm (but not too warm), breathable, waterproof, stylish and that fits is nearly impossible!

I've just gone down the route of having multiple coats a practical non-stylish one for dog-walking, a stylish but not fully waterproof/warm one for shopping because I won't be outside all day, and several that are just in between for varying needs!

Yes I'm the same, I've got a lightweight Fatface jacket, a regatta jacket that's quite warm and waterproof but too hot if walking far, a wool coat that's not very warm and no good in rain but is good for going round shops, and a big heavy warm parka for really cold days. My DH complains I've got too many, I dare not tell him none are quite right and I'm still on the browse

Lands end comes up quite big. I think you'd be fine with the smaller size

So Iv done the same journey walk I did the other day and wore my thin jacket and I’m still sweating like a big. It must just be me and not down!!
