DD is ill and because it's the middle of the night I'm panicking and overthinking things. Anyone else awake and need company ?

Because my feet are so cold I cant get to sleep. I have ski socks on and they still feel like ice.

WagathaChristie · 06/11/2019 03:18

Just let our lovely old dog on the bed for a cuddle with dd and dd said "I'm not letting her too close I don't want her to get this De Niro virus " 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m awake as boyfriend left for work at 2.30, switched every light on in the house and made noise equivalent to a herd of elephants!!! (I might be exaggerating slightly) Plus I have pneumonia and now I’m awake I can’t stop coughingAngry

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 06/11/2019 03:26

Op,I hope your DD is fine in the morning. I’m awake at 3am every day with hip pains no idea why and don’t have any pain any other time of day, it will last about 1-2 hours? TFF mumsnet

I'm awake because I have awful insomnia, which has been compounded by a month of daily migraines, so despite taking a sleeping tablet I appear to be awake! Confused

Gottagetout · 06/11/2019 04:03

I'm awake because I'm on nights, but I'd be awake at home as well. May as well get paid for having insomnia! Plus it's quiet, I'm on my own and there's no one breathing down my neck constantly.
I sleep better during the day, think I'm nocturnal, but permanent nights has taken a toll health-wise that I don't really like.
I feel for those of you with babies and small children, it's so hard.
Hope the poorly ones are feeling better soon.

VirginiaCreeper · 06/11/2019 04:10

I'm awake because I'm having chemotherapy tomorrow and I never sleep the night before or after. DH is snoring and I've got in the spare bed si at least I can put the light on.

OldGrinch · 06/11/2019 04:18

I'm awake because I threw up my supper and missed the firwork display due to being a heap on bathroom floor for several hours. But woken up in my bed fully clothed Shock

Mammyofonlyone · 06/11/2019 04:31

My husband snores.....

Pinkkahori · 06/11/2019 04:39

Feeling huge sympathy for your dd OP. I'm awake because earlier tonight I suddenly came down with terrible stomach pains rapidly followed by diarrhoea. Hideous, I've never had anything like it before.
I ended up taking Imodium and falling asleep hours earlier than usual.
Now I am awake and my digestive system is making some fairly interesting and intense sounds.

lumpy76 · 06/11/2019 04:41

Been up with everyone in the family since 1am. We're all jet lagged from doing back to back long haul flights from Auckland to London. DH is going into the office in a hr so he can finis early. Wondering what time the school going ones and 3yr old are going to crash!

tobee · 06/11/2019 04:41

I'm awake because it's become a terrible pattern now. Just as I think I'm getting back on track, things go to pot again. Everyone is nocturnal in this house though. Been worrying about my family as well. Why are things more worrying at night?Sad

Thinking of everyone else on this thread now, all the different things people are going through! Hope people feel better in the near future!

Hopefully I can drift off to audible!

tobee · 06/11/2019 04:43

Ps there seems to be a lot of norovirus about!

TheLittleDogLaughed · 06/11/2019 04:55

Had a horrible argument with dd (17) and can’t get it out of my head now.

Kyvia · 06/11/2019 05:03

My antidepressant has been giving me ‘middle-of-the-night’ insomnia every night I wake up sometime between 3-5am and have a lot of difficulty getting back off again. DP is on a night shift so at least I can put the bedside lights on nightlight mode, read a bit on here and put the radio on to try to drift back off.

The dog (sleeps on the bed) looks at me wearily when I turn the lights on and then crawls under the covers.
