Sunday morning leak

Woke up this morning to a massive radiator leak in our new flat. Only been here a couple of days. Water everywhere and now it looks as if there is water underneath our boiler and that has stopped working. The plumber has been and is going to get some bits. Luckily we were at home. Had to turn the stop cock off.

I suffer with major anxiety so just looking for a bit of reassurance. I hate things like happening. The flat is brand new....

Trying to do some deep breathing.....

Didn't want to read and run. These things are always stressful, but it sounds like you're getting things under control. I always feel happier once there are professionals like plumbers involved, I find it takes away the pressure of making decisions.

Is the flat rented or have you bought it?

If rented your landlord is surely responsible for this.

If you've bought it brand new then surely the developer will be responsible under warranty if the boiler leaks within the first few days!

Either way I wouldn't have thought you shouldn't be out of pocket for this. Sending positive vibes for a quick solution. Home insurance should also cover you for water damage.

Thanks Anti. No it's our flat - bought. Plumber has been and all sorted. Needed a new screw or bolt on the radiator and the leak somehow messed with the boiler pressure so all sorted. I'll speak to the management company who own the building tomorrow to see what happens. Got him to check all the other rads as well whilst he was here and he tightened them all. Heating back on and all cosy. Just weight patches now which are gradually drying. Oh well. I always think worse things happen and at least we were at home 🏡
