Sitting with a cuppa watching the cat watching the birds in the garden. It's a miserable day here.

We moved house 2 weeks ago so today we're trying to sort out the wardrobes. I'd much rather a sofa and movie day but I'm also sick of falling over boxes. The bruises!!

We're having a roast dinner - beef with all the trimmings.

Much better weather in Kent than yesterday. Sitting with the cat drinking tea. Texting DM who's in Norwich for her old girls' reunion (the old girls are 90) and DD who's staying with a friend in London. I start a new job tomorrow so sorting out my work wardrobe and doing some washing once I start moving.

jmh740 · 03/11/2019 09:37

I got up early as expecting the decorator at 9am she has texted to say she'll be here about 10. Dd is at a sleep over. ds is going to a party this afternoon. oh is in bed hiding from impending decorator. Shes coming to do all downstairs skirting boards and bannister on the stairs so I'm not sure what I'm going to do while shes here. I need to go to asda, do loads of washing, nothing very exciting today.

Handbag101 · 03/11/2019 09:44

Woke up to a massive hissing sound and water pouring everywhere from our radiator. Now the boiler has broken and no water so just waiting for the emergency plumber. It's a brand new property. Only been here a few days. I suffer from anxiety and its currently through the roof and my heart is pounding. Thank goodness we were in...

princessspotify · 03/11/2019 09:46

I'm currently sat drinking coffee thinking about getting dressed and going food shopping. Dh is pottering in the garage, Ds1 and 2 are watching Netflix.
Plan to have roast beef for Sunday lunch and then possibly go to a fireworks display this evening as it got called off yesterday due to bad weather.

Doobydoo · 03/11/2019 09:59

Good luck with your new job Lobster. DP has taken ddog1 to vet as he hasn't had any water for over 24 hours and definitely not well. Ds2 in bed. I need to make Christmas cake and later if dp feeling better he is going shopping...we have all been lurgified on and off the last 2 weeks. Looking forward to watching His Dark Materials later.

Adversecamber22 · 03/11/2019 10:52

I’m at the tale end of being really unwell for a week with a horrid virus. I isolated myself in spare room with tv and my games console though one day I struggled to even watch tv as felt so unwell I couldn’t face solid food for three days.. Will attempt a potter about though when trying yesterday it exhausted me and I fell asleep.i did manage to eat a proper dinner that DS cooked.

ShippingNews · 03/11/2019 11:03

We're both retired, so life is pretty nice and quiet every day. We got up late, about 10am. Went to the movies, saw "Judy" which we both loved. Then home and I caught up with all my correspondence and made a simple chicken casserole for dinner.

NonUrinatInVentum · 03/11/2019 11:24

@Doobydoo I hope your doggy feels better soon

DDs are upstairs playing

I’m sat watching House

DH is faffing in the loft

Later DD1 and I will be revising as we both have exams this week, whilst DD2 and DD3 go to soft play with DH

milliefiori · 03/11/2019 11:31

General tidy up and laundry day after half term. I'm about to make soup for lunch then I have some work to finish for a client. DC have soem homework and DH will probably head into the garden to potter around for a few hours.

confusedofengland · 03/11/2019 11:44

We got back from holiday last night at about 6pm & I have already done 4 loads of washing, 5th in the machine now Shock Another 6 or 7 more to do (family of 5, self-catering, including swim stuff, towels & bedding, plus school uniform & PE kit for tomorrow as we went straight from school, plus muddy football kits from this morning). Feel incredibly guilty about this environmentally but at least the sun is shining so can dry naturally (I don't own a tumble drier).

DH & DS1 are at football, which is something I have not missed over our holiday!

When they get back we will have lunch, then head out so DS2 can practise bike riding for Bikeability in a few weeks. He is 8 & autistic with gross motor skills delays so only just learned to ride without stabilisers, but we were told he never would, so very proud of him but need to work harder to get what other kids get naturally.

Later this afternoon DH & DS1 are going to watch football on Sky, so I will attempt to finish my Book Club book (Becoming by Michelle Obama) & hopefully DS2 & 3 will play nicely.

Then cottage pie for dinner & repack school bags for tomorrow.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 03/11/2019 12:59

@Doobydoo thank you so much and I really hope that DDog is ok. I had this with my cat recently and she was listless as well as not drinking water (all fine now).

happypotamus · 03/11/2019 13:00

Got DC up and argued with them about getting ready, went to church, came home and had lunch.
We are going trick or treating later (I know it's not Halloween but here all the neighbourhood kids go in one big group and this was the date decided on), cooking a roast, tidying up, sorting out school uniforms and pe kits for tomorrow.

paddingtonbearsmarmalade · 03/11/2019 13:03

We had a good lie in & cuddle & then went to Tesco. The rest of the day is going to be a TV and sofa day I think - I’m catching up on Strictly while DP makes his lunch. Then I think we’ll watch football at 2 & I’ll do uni work while that’s on. Then Harry Potter is on ITV. Then strictly results. Then His Dark Materials! We were going to try to finish series 2 of Fargo today but I don’t think we’ll fit it in! Pasta bake for dinner :)

We were out and about yesterday so it’s good to have a lazy sofa day.

Charles11 · 03/11/2019 13:05

Football, homework, uniforms to do then I’m cooking an easy roast chicken dinner, relaxing with my book and tea then watching a film on Netflix with the kids after dinner.

MrsF94 · 03/11/2019 13:05

Lazy morning before the dreaded Sunday food shop this afternoon. Bought DH a cider home brewing kit for his birthday so we might have a crack at getting some home brew on the go later 🤣 he's currently out 'gardening' (by that I mean hacking down anything with leaves as he's 'sick of them falling off' ...clearly not a fan of autumn. Goodbye my pretty rose bush).

Silentlysinking101 · 03/11/2019 13:06

The sun is out, its a glorious day and I ought to be ripping trees out of the garden (moved in over summer, garden is a shit tip) but I've buggered my back and dd has been poorly since Wednesday. I picked her up from her dad's this morning, did the food shop so she could pick some treats and then she got to choose what we did for the afternoon... She has picked trolls cartoons on Netflix, chocolate spread sarnies and snuggles in the sofa... Would be rude not to!

Examssuck · 03/11/2019 13:08

Early pre-Christmas clear out here!!

cinnamonbun · 03/11/2019 13:16

Got a cold so stayed in bed until 8.30 while my partner got up with the kids. Had tea and toast, partner took the kids out, I put school and work clothes on to wash, and did my meal plan for the week. Now I've taken myself back to bed for a while as feeling sorry for myself (should probably be doing some sort of cleaning while I've got peace and quiet but oh well). When the kids get back we will probably get out for a walk (for my benefit really!) And then I'll cook dinner before I do a night shift tonight!

Hecateh · 03/11/2019 13:27

Sorting through 40 years of photos with a view to getting rid of lots, scanning the best ones onto computer and packing the rest up and putting away under the floorboards for someone to find many years hence.

cliffdiver · 03/11/2019 14:49

All our plans went out the window.

Discovered DD2 had nits, so since 9.30 this morning I've been de-nitting her (bottom length hair) and DD1 (waist length very thick hair).

Over 5 hours!

Feeling a bit itchy too now Confused

cheesenpickles · 03/11/2019 15:30

This morning I did some work for an hour, dh put on the slow cooker and took the kids to his dad's for breakfast so I could have some quiet. He then came back and while fil watched the kids we went to the gym. Headed home, I collected the kids and had a coffee with fil before popping to the shop to buy bread and dessert for tonight. Just gave the eldest a bath, youngest is snoozing on the sofa. Fil coming over at 4 for dinner and then when he's gone kids will head to bed and we'll mooch in front of the tv.

AwdBovril · 03/11/2019 15:39

In bed, unwell. Drinking mint tea.
DH gone out for school lunch stuff.
DD currently playing with the pound shop makeup we let her have. On the basis that she's allergic to face paint, & if she is allowed makeup now it'll be boring by the time she's 12, or whenever her friends are allowed it. Hopefully... anyway, she's just come in with eyeliner cat's whiskers on, to match the cat-ear headband & paw gloves. And sparkly pink eyeshadow everywhere!

@cliffdiver - feeling your pain with the nits. DD has long hair, & she has them at the moment, too. Curses!

GrotbagsBetterLookingSister · 03/11/2019 17:54

I went back to bed this aft as I was poorly!

I've then cooked tea: pie, mash, chicken, roast roots, veg and gravy. Everyone else washed up.

Dc played out but then started fighting with their "friends" so they came in again.

Dh is on the PlayStation and will shower the dc and sort the laundry out in a bit.

I've Hoovered up and will clean the surfaces in a bit and will then do some knitting or something after dc gone to bed.
