6th birthday musical

My son and I both love singing and I think he would love to see a musical. Our birthdays are both in January. I can only find Wicked or Matilda in that month (London or SW). He is a very sensitive boy (he won't watch the Jungle Book or Little Mermaid films for example, too scary). Is there a musical that he would enjoy? Thanks for any ideas.

Out of the 2 you've mentioned it has to be Matilda. Wicked is very hard to follow for one so young (and boring tbh).

The Lion King would be best for a 6 year old. Isn't It showing any longer?

Lion King? Mary Poppins?

Mary Poppins?

I would second Lion King. I just took my ds6 and he sat well. Took older DS to see Matilda but he was 7, he sat well too but would say Matilda is much more wordy to follow.
I preferred Matilda.

School of rock?

My 6 year old has seen Matilda and loved it, it is a great musical, I would go with that out of your 2 options.

Brilliant. Thank you all. He will sit really well but gets scared easily.

We took DD1 to Matilda for her 6th birthday and she loved it, but she also LOVES School Of Rock and has seen that twice. If he's a bit sensitive then the Mrs Trunchbull character might scare him, there isn't anything like that in SoR.
