What iPad?

I’m planning to get DD an iPad for Christmas. She’s 9 so will use it for the usual games, listening to music etc. I’m thinking I’ll get something refurbished so it’s not too £££ but am totally clueless and have no idea what’s considered a decent model or how much memory it should have.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

DD age 3 has a refurbished ipad 2 which adequately does all that - 64gb.

The iPad 2 can’t download many of the most recent games. I’d get something more recent.

My ds is 9 and wants an ipad for christmas. He said he is happy with a secondhand one and has offered to put his own money towards it (he has been saving up for one anyway). We are looking around the £200 mark, which will probably be the 5th generation, which came out 2017. We will probably get it from Cex as you get a decent warranty. If you dont want to spend that much then 4th gen would be ok, or 6th gen if you are happy to pay about £260 (secondhand).
