7 year old bday party

My son’s 7th birthday party is in a couple of weeks. We’ve got an entertainer for an hour, 20 minutes or so to eat, so need to fill another 40 minutes or so with some games. 15 kids, all age 6-7. Any inspiration would be appreciated :)

Pass the parcel
Musical statues
Treasure Hunt (a friend of mine does amazing kits for this...Skylarking Kids on Etsy)
Chocolate game

Limbo
Shoe box shuffle relay - each team gets 2 shoe boxes. They must race to a cone and back while wearing shoe boxes on their feet. When they return the next person on their team races. They will have to shuffle their feet or they will step out of the boxes. Also if a box is broken that team loses.

If it's anything like the 6 year old party I was at a few weeks ago - a job lot of balloons/glitter streamer things and just letting them run around shrieking 🙄

Kids voted it the best party!

Four corners. Name the corners of the room A to D (or whatever suits the theme). Blindfold one of the children, who stands in the middle and counts to ten, while everyone else picks a corner to stand in. The child who can't see then calls out the name of a corner: everyone there is out. One of them is the next person to be blindfolded. The winner is the only player left.

Keeper of the Keys can also work as a game to quieten them down!

Kungfupanda67 · 02/11/2019 19:27

@wanderings 4 corners is a good idea, hasn’t thought of that one

Balloon relay, get the hoop around the circle without letting go of each other hands, piñata

AtleastitsnotMonday · 02/11/2019 19:43

Donut limbo
Sleeping lions
Kim’s game (memory trays) just use cool, themed or funny items!

Spied · 02/11/2019 19:48

Sleeping lions definitely.
I think it's likely the food part will over run and kids will be all hyped from entertainer.
There is unlikely to be much spare time for worrying about filling it.

Mumofboth · 02/11/2019 19:50

Could you afford a bouncy castle? That seems to entertain all ages for a long time.

Kungfupanda67 · 02/11/2019 21:12

@Mumofboth we’ve got entertainment, it’s just to fill the half hour gap between eating and going home. Not really worth a bouncy castle.

Balloon relay’s a good one - trying to think of things that we don’t need to take a lot of stuff for so that would be good, there will be balloons there anyway

@AtleastitsnotMonday what’s donut limbo??

Decorate your own party bag? Load of cheap stickers, coloured pens etc. Need to write their name on them and then decorate and then you fill them before they go home.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 04/11/2019 13:11

Hang ring donuts on strings on a washing line. Dc have to eat them without using hands.
