Jeans for snake hips son???

7 year old DS has very slim hips and likes very skinny fit jeans.

Just tried 10 pairs on in Primark / H&M described as variously skinny and super skinny and not had any luck - even on fully tightened adjustable waist band they look like clown trousers plus very uncomfortable with all that extra fabric around his waist.

Tried girls ones - leggings / jeggings are getting close but then you lose the adjuster waistband and I'd have to get sewing and can't be arsed wit that.

I'm sure we used to get a 'slim fit super skinny' from M&S but can't see those anymore.

Any other suggestions??

Have you tried super skinny ones from Next. They're even too skinny for my skinny boy so might work for you!

Ds wears gap girls pull on jeggings, lovely snug fit Grin

Next trousers suit my skinny DS aged 8.

French brands are usually the narrowest. Also John Lewis are cut smaller.
DS got skinny jeans this week from H&M- just about stay up on smallest waistband setting. He liked the cargos because the fabric was so soft... But they'd have gone round him twice at least.
He has Boden, which usually adjust well. Gap, again adjusted lots.
If he ever has joggers, I have to sew the waist smaller, as the waist strings never tighten enough.

Next do a slim fit. I've never seen it in the shop. But they do it online. My 7 year old is of similar proportions!

TheBitterBoy · 03/11/2019 08:52

Next slim fit skinny jeans, and gap jeans and trackies are the only ones that fit my talk skinny 11 year old. You have my sympathies!

CroissantsAtDawn · 03/11/2019 08:53

I was going to recommend Vertbaudet. Still a bit loose on my skinny 5 year old but he likes them.

Next do super skinny boys jeans. If I remember they're pretty much spray on jeans so I'd imagine they may fit ok

I seem to have misunderstood the meaning is 'snake hips' as I always thought it referred to someone who is a good dancer Blush

I have the same problem with DS. I just tumble dry on a high heat and shrink them

Totally agree it should be the norm to sell trousers as waist and leg measurement rather than age!! Kids are all so different.

Another vote for next for super skinny fit jeans OP.

I wish certain pp would stop referring to 'fat kids'. Children are all different builds and sizes, it does not mean that they're fat if they're not super skinny.

Some people will find anything to try and feel superior about. Stop it!

Jammysod · 03/11/2019 18:41

Another Next recommendation from me. Their jeans & joggers are a god send for my skinny legged 5 year old.

Yes - when mine were kids it was so hard to find the right fit of jeans. For skinny kids we liked H&M and Gap slim fit.

Now they're in adult clothes it's so much easier. I just bought DS two pairs of jeans from American Eagle, 30" waist, 36" inseam. We did have to order them online because they're not stocked in store.

My DD also buys online from American Eagle - she buys the extra long.
