Which shower gel/deodorant for 9yr old boy?

DS has started to smell a bit sweaty so we're trying to instill a showering routine. Any recommendations on the type of shower gel/deodorant that is suitable for him? We want to get him his own so he feels grown up, but some of the "men's" products feel too grown up for him!

Simple soap bar and Biosen deodorant, the solid stick has a pleasant gender neutral smell. Also good for sensitive skin.

Thank you!

Proper bar soap is better at combating body odour than shower gel (better for the environment too as there are no plastic bottles to dispose of)

Definitely a proper bar of soap and a flannel. Worked brilliantly for my stinky 8 year old.

scented shower gels tend to make people whiffier tbh as they seem to have a negative effect on armpit bacteria!

When my teen was younger we used Sam Farmer. Excellent products and service. Now he uses a mildly scented adult one.

Dove men roll on is nice and not a strong scent

Bar soap and tbh I find he's more likely to use deo and was a shower if he has been with me and able to choose his own shower gel and deo.

Adult deodorants typically contain a lot of aluminium which is not good for kids. Run a google search on "low aluminium deodorant" to research this.
