Two fillings on Monday 😭

Hi, I had an appointment last week for two fillings on my top left side. I was so nervous that I canceled and rearranged πŸ™ˆ

It’s now on Monday and I’m half tempted to cancel again.

I’m so nervous. Iv had one before and it wasn’t bad at all so I have no idea why I’m so terrified. It’s the needle and how long it’s going to take 😩

Hold my hand πŸ˜‚

How many days have you booked off to recover?
Surely the rest of the week?

It will be fine.

The injection stings a bit, but only for a second or two and when it’s done, you are over the worst bit. If you look up and to your left, you won’t be able to see the needle at all.

The anaesthetic is very effective so the drilling will absolutely, definitely not hurt. It takes an experienced dentist 10-15 minutes to do a filing, so you will be in the chair for about 30 mins. Your jaw may ache a bit after holding your mouth wide open but if yo want a break raise your hand & the dentist will let you have one.

The anaesthetic takes 3-4 hours to wear off. You should feel no pain whatsoever afterward.

Good luck Smile.

Thank you!! My tooth/teeth aren’t even hurting but apparently need it. Funny enough on the other side where Iv had a filling it’s hurting and tastes vile, I think I have an infection in the gum. Will they give me anything while I’m there?

I’m so scared and I don’t know why. I’m having a panic πŸ˜‚

You know that on Monday evening you will be thinking, 'why was I so worried about it?'

It will be fine. The injection is the worst bit, and if the dentist is good, you won't even feel that.

You'll be fine!

The needle part isnt nice but its over within seconds isnt it. Dont cancel, most dentists have a policy that youll be removed from its service if you miss two or more appointments.

I had my first filling about 3 months ago and the needle wasnt pleasent but apart from that it was all ok. I had a worse experience getting my wisedom teeth removed Grin

Yes if theres an infection youll get a prescription for antibiotics

It’s done!!!

It wasn’t very nice. I had 5 injections and still could feel it abit. After he filled them and put the cold air on it hurt abit, like sensitivity. He said he’s never had it before after being so numbed up. He asked if I had a sinus infection? But my ear is mega mega blocked on that side so could it be that?

But it’s done. He gave me some 1000(?) toothpaste to use. He was lovely and took his time. I hateeeeed the noise and the feeling πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜

He said if I ever need root work or it pulled I would have to go under general because my nerves are so sensitive.

It hurts and I have an awful taste in my mouth 😭😭

Foxton20 · 04/11/2019 13:55

God I’m such a wuss!! The area hurts, I’m feeling mega tired too. It hurts when I smile etc but I think it’s the area of the injections due to having so many
