I'm having a tantrum at Amazon Prime

Does this screenshot mean I have Amazon prime or not?

Help?!!
I DO NOT ever want Amazon prime. Was trying to escape a nag page & unintentionally joined. Then tried to cancel, but not sure I have cancelled.
Thanks.

Not sure but they are easy enough to contact. They will happily check for you.

buckeejit · 02/11/2019 22:52

Their customer service is good - go online chat & they can check

Thanks, I had to use the chat system in the end to cancel.
Simply could not do it thru any online sequence.
I am much more wary of using Amazon in future.

so... the follow up is I have had 2 phone calls supposedly about my Amazon Prime account, automated voices asking if my Amazon account was hacked and telling me that £38.99 was deducted to renew Amazon Prime. "Press one to confirm or speak to an advisor" followed by a woman with accent too thick for me to understand (perhaps I am the thick one).

The phone calls are a con, right? My Amazon dashboard keeps saying 'Try Prime!' rather than saying I already have Prime. I know I need to get onto Amazon chat, but not sure what I'm asking. "Do you know all about the con artists that tell people they just paid £38.99 for the service I don't have? Do you know why I'm getting these phone calls for first time ever starting in the days after I accidentally clicked yes on Prime; are YOuR servers being hacked?"

If you have Amazon prime, let me know, does it normally renew 3 days later for a £38.99 charge, do their call centres feature women with strong accents?

I think it looks like a scam / spoof site to me I’m afraid.

DownToTheSeaAgain · 08/11/2019 21:56

The phone call is a scam. Ignore.

loudnoises1 · 08/11/2019 22:05

Can you screenshot the web address of the page you screenshotted? It might not be in genuine amazon page

lljkk · 08/11/2019 22:07

Ta...
Found this info, it's a recent scam, seems like.
The weird thing is they had my name (!!)

Of course I was in a fury b/c of the accidental joining Prime & yelled an awful lot at the lady I spoke to (who was also making me late for work). Maybe she'll decide to go harvest rice or flip burgers after all.

I wonder if this only started now b/c my emails have been hacked, irk.

DH wants to get rid of the landline, but I like a backup if the kids are at home alone or misplace their mobile.

ps: I just did an incognito login of my amazon account & all good, is legit.

Scum scammers. Grrrr....
