My DP was showing me cute otter pictures and it made me wonder- is there anybody that doesn't love otters? They're always sooo cute... how could you not like otters?

Random... I know...

Rating animals in order of cuteness is it. Have I logged into adultinfantsnet by mistake?

DoctorTwo · 01/11/2019 22:35

Three of my friends are otter obsessed. I really don't get it. I think they are just...meh. The sloths and Quokua/Kokwa whatever the heck it is up thread also doesnt bring me much of the feels.

I do think the pandas are adorable though.

I can't see how anyone couldn't like puppies and kittens.

Is there anyone who looks at the Andrex puppy and goes "ewww, yuck!"?

Cos I find that concept unbelievable. They are adorable. I wouldn't want to own one (too much work) but I'd happily lose a view YouTube hours watching puppy videos.

@KindOranges - I take your point, but evolution would have ensured that Pandas would not have survived if this had always been a problem. I suspect that such chancy circumstances are the result of Pandas once being plentiful, so much so that evolution had to put the breaks on as it were to stop them over-breeding :). Mind you, I personally think that the world could do with a lot more pandas. Perhaps we could genetically modify them to Bonsai them and have them as pets ...

wheresmymojo · 02/11/2019 09:05

OMG bonsai pet pandas!!!

Omg I am shocked reading Samhain’s link. 😲

I defy anyone not to love a Clouded leopard cub (and if anyone’s heard anything iffy about them my fingers are in my ears lalala!)

Is this the one, universal thing that everyone loves?
YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/11/2019 09:43

That cub is fully grown, right?

No, but with their slogan 'soft, strong and very very long', they obviously should have used dachshunds not labradors.

And surely everyone loves a sausage dog? Certainly mine spreads a little happiness when we go by.

VenusClapTrap · 02/11/2019 09:50

David Attenborough. Everybody, I mean everybody, loves David Attenborough.

NameChange84 · 02/11/2019 09:53

That's true. Sir David is a national treasure.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/11/2019 10:02

David Attenborough irritates me. I prefer pandas and kittens.

Guinea-Pigs

Baby guinea-pigs (pups but piglets sounds nicer) are born fully furred , eyes open, teeth. They can amble along at only a gew hours old . Compare that to rabbits, mice, hamsters.

They bounce along and 'popcorn' ( leap in the air , turning as they jump)

They grow into pretty decent adults .
Vegetarian
Rarely bite (not a 'never' but rare)

All the noises-squeak, purr, chirrup, some sing like a bit .
Some adults will popcorn if the mood takes them.

Only downside (apart from them dying and leaving you heartbroken) if they eat their first passing of pooh (BUT they do it very discretely at dusk)

So : Guinea-Pigs win , yeah?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/11/2019 10:37

some sing like a bit - bird .

TSSDNCOP · 02/11/2019 10:45

I personally like tigers. I know they’re a bit bitey, but I think you can tell by the ears and paws that they’re super cute.

I’m also partial to penguins and seals.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 02/11/2019 11:06

I am with @Aposterhasnoname

Love Sloths , they fascinate me . As do goats.

ForalltheSaints · 02/11/2019 11:17

I like beavers and red squirrels more.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/11/2019 11:40

Donkeys.

Donkeys are just adorable.

Not a fan of kittens myself (I don't like cats, they have horrible sharp claws and I don't trust them).

ScreamingCosArgosHaveNoRavens · 02/11/2019 11:41

Otters - I can take them or leave them Smile.

Squirrel26 · 02/11/2019 12:28

Terry Nutkins has the middle fingers on both hands bitten off by otters?? Did two attack him at once or did he make a habit of annoying them?

Sorry Terry, maybe the first one was unlucky, but the second finger’s definitely on you. Grin

ReadyPayerTwo · 02/11/2019 13:21

They rape baby harbour seals, so no I don't find them cute in the slightest.

Otavis · 02/11/2019 13:24

Not an Attenborough fan, either. Though it’s perhaps less to do with the man himself than the adoring way people respond to him when there’s a sixteen year old girl who’s being slaughtered online for the same environmental message.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/11/2019 13:25

Ok, just mummy and baby otters then?

crustycrab · 02/11/2019 13:30

I don't like any of the things mentioned other than David Attenborough. I'd find it weird if he was universally liked.

All of the above walk, crawl or swim around with their bum holes out and have horrible noses and tails. Including the baby pandas. Yuk.

No op and pps. None of you have yet found something that is universally liked by humans.

Oxygen would be my suggestion. Never met anyone who doesn't want to breathe.
