Fed up with everyone keep telling me my baby soon won't want to be kissed & cuddled! He's 9 months!
How old was your baby when they stopped wanting cuddles and endless mummy kisses? Please say never Smile

Ten and six still very cuddly. I still love a cuddle or kiss from my parents.

SpiderCharlotte · 30/10/2019 20:34

DD (13) still very cuddly. DS (15) was THE most cuddly boy but not so much anymore. Although I still cuddle him!

MirkwoodMiss · 30/10/2019 20:37

Who is telling you this? Hugged my baby boy at every opportunity- he's almost 17Smile and now he stoops down to hug me! Take no notice of silly comments. Be as affectionate as want for as long as you can.

All the science shows that it's really important to keep cuddling your children all the way through and particularly important with teenage boys as they tend not to get any physical affection until they get a girlfriend/boyfriend because they don't get hugs from friends as girls do.
My 9 year old is less liberal with hugs, but I've realised that I need to properly connect with him and then he'll accept them. Random hugs are no longer acceptable. Sad

Bokky · 30/10/2019 20:38

DD is 10, nearly 11 and gets really cross if we don't make time to snuggle up together each day. I don't complain as she might not want to tomorrow!

willdoitinaminute · 30/10/2019 20:40

DS 15 frequently wraps me up in a hug sometimes even in public. He now towers over me so I think it’s cool to hug your mum when you are much taller than her. He’s always been very tactile and film nights are just an excuse for a cuddle.

ChickenyChick · 30/10/2019 20:41

17 (6ft3 and beardy Shock) and 15 and still hug and kiss and (maybe) smother them

They accept it and also give me random hugs

I also got a dog to smother with my maternal affection now Wink

QueenofLouisiana · 30/10/2019 20:48

I’m allowed hugs at least once a day from my 14 year old. I still hug my mum!

StarlingsInSummer · 30/10/2019 20:49

Mine is nearly 5 and still very affectionate and cuddly!

RachelEllenR · 30/10/2019 20:50

One of mine didn't want many cuddles as soon as they could crawl as she wanted to be on the go constantly. When she got to 2.5ish she became very affectionate again and loves cuddles now at 4, and my 6 year old has always loved cuddles.

Sipperskipper · 30/10/2019 20:50

About 12 weeks old. She’s 2.5 now and still doesn’t sit still long enough for a cuddle!

LucileDuplessis · 30/10/2019 20:52

My 10yo and 12yo are still very cuddly, but the nearly-14yo doesn't really like me cuddling him. He puts up with it fairly graciously though!

BillywigSting · 30/10/2019 20:53

Mine is six and still regularly harasses me for kisses and cuddles (usually while I'm getting ready for work or cooking tea).

I'm 29 and still greet my mum with a big hug and a kiss, because she's my mum, I love her and think she's brilliant.

People telling you he'll grow out of it soon are talking out of their arses.

Oddsocks2 · 30/10/2019 20:55

11, 9 & 7 and all very cuddly boys. Ds1 jumped on my back the other day as he ‘just wanted to feel the love’.

Lindy2 · 30/10/2019 20:57

My 11 year old still likes a cuddle (but not in public - It's not cool to cuddle in public 😂)

57Varieties · 30/10/2019 20:58

11 and 13 and still love hugs! Both boys

TricklBOO · 30/10/2019 21:03

Our 14 year old DS still gets in our bed in the morning for cuddles. BIL1 still hugs & kisses MIL - he's 52.

Besidesthepoint · 30/10/2019 21:07

I don't remember our mum giving us a choice Grin

IAmNotAWitch · 30/10/2019 21:07

My 15 year old DS just blew me a kiss on the way out the door, shouted that he loved me and to have a good day...

Moneyplants · 30/10/2019 21:07

My dd is not very cuddly. As a small girl she liked being carried and sitting on my lap but not very keen on actual cuddles.

StroppyWoman · 30/10/2019 21:08

My 20yo is still affectionate.

happycamper11 · 30/10/2019 21:32

Mines nearly 10 (years not months) I do a lot of volunteering in school and she'll still run up and hug and kiss me whenever she sees me in front of all her friends. DD6 is like a Velcro child

HerRoyalSpookyness · 30/10/2019 21:38

My 11 year old loves a hug. I was cuddling him in the school yard the other week and as his class was going in I said to him "I won't kiss you and embarrass you in front of all your friends" he said "you're my mum, don't be silly" and gave me a kiss before running off to his line and shouting "see ya loser" to me Grin

GurlwiththeCurl · 30/10/2019 21:39

Mine still love hugs and they often get into bed with me (I am almost totally bedridden through illness) for head scratching!

They are 27 and 29!

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 30/10/2019 21:41

He's still a bloody fingerling at 7!
