How to clean my oven ?

Woodlandwitch · 30/10/2019 15:38

It’s not been cleaned for 18 months. Normally I would get the oven people round to do their magic but I haven’t had the money available

I have no idea what will work without major scrubbing Blush

Mr Muscle. Open the windows and stand back......

ToastyFingers · 30/10/2019 16:01

Cif works wonders if you want to avoid the super caustic fumey ones. It will take a wee scrub though.

Oven pride left overnight

Corneysjazzband · 30/10/2019 17:30

I am using Mr Muscle. I am currently on a 2nd spray for some stubborn areas. It is grim. But a surprising amount of stuff has lifted off already. I have done some scrubbing but less than I expected. Good luck! We will feel so virtuous when our ovens are gleaming and shiny.

Lakeland oven cleaner it fantastic ,
You get a brush, gloves and a bag to put the shelves in.
Paint the cleaner on and leave for a few hours ( or overnight) and wipe off .
It's very low odour.
Do not get it on Aluminium!
It's great for cleaning Pyrex too

crosser62 · 30/10/2019 18:14

OVEN PRIDE...fantastic stuff.
Works overnight and is only a few quid.

Mine looked so good last time I did it that I wanted to invite strangers in off the street to admire my oven . Grin

It’s great stuff.

BrokenWing · 30/10/2019 18:23

I've always used oven pride, but make sure you read the instructions and buy extra strong, longer cuff gloves, it is seriously dangerous chemicals. You can't use on glass doors as it can cause the tempered glass to shatter.

PrayingandHoping · 30/10/2019 18:30

Lakeland oven cleaner wins hands down

You just paint it on, leave it on and then wipe off.
No scrubbing. Easy

fussychica · 30/10/2019 18:35

Oven Pride here too, mind you DH does oursSmile. Usually cheapest in B&M or Poundstretcher or similar, about £3 if I remember correctly. Leaves it looking great with minimum effort. Wear long rubber gloves and DH always wears his old glasses in case of any splashes as it's nasty stuff.

Oven pride !!!!! Is magic

Farfromtheusual · 30/10/2019 18:47

Definitely Oven Pride it's only like £3 from b&m/home bargains etc.

SamBeckett · 30/10/2019 19:23

@PrayingandHoping I am glad someone agrees with me

PrayingandHoping · 30/10/2019 19:38

@SamBeckett I've used all the others mentioned and Lakeland one is def the lowest effort best results 😉

Woodlandwitch · 31/10/2019 09:46

The Lakeland stuff looks good.
I
Couldn’t wait and just used some elbow grease and bicarbonate of soda 👌🏻
