Travelling without Dad

Hi All.I will be going to Germany on my own next week with DC.Do I need a notarized consent letter from her dad to travel or would a letter with copy of his passport suffice?

Do you have the same surname? I'm divorced but have the same surname as my DC and have never been asked, we go abroad frequently.

If you have a different surname take a letter of consent.

@Waxonwaxoff0 we have different surnames so will have to take a letter of consent .Childs paternal grandmother is travelling with us.Thanks for your help.
