Toilet training 5 yr old regression

Posting here for traffic as I am so stressed

Currently on holiday for half term with some friends and my 5 yr daughter has had accidents every day and sometimes 2 or 3 times. She just won't tell us she needs a wee and I have been reminding her every two hours but she's still not telling us and I feel like I'm regressing back to toddler stage having to worry about taking spare clothes for her everywhere. She's made her self sore so I've had to even buy sudo cream for her.

Background, she started school in September. Was absolutely fine with toilet training at nursery. Since starting school she's starting to come home with wet pants. She still wears nappies at night which are soaked through but I can't take nappies off her as she still sleeping with us most of the night

Any advice net mums ?

Sometimes kids are too busy or stimulated with school/ holidays etc and don’t think to plan a wee! Let her settle back into a home time routine and concentrate on regular opportunities to use the toilet with no pressure. Can you lift her last thing at night?

Have you checked out whether she might have a UTI?

You should definitely be thinking about nighttime toilet training......5 is getting quite old not to have even started/tried.....just put a towel under her when she comes in your bed that's what we did....within a week or so they were dry by also putting her on the loo half asleep about 1030pm

I think bed time nappies might be giving the wrong impression that is carrying over in to daytime that she can get away with not using the toilet

Just asking her if she needs the loo is obviously not working so I would physically walk her to the loo every couple of hours

My son was the same. I had to set him on the toilet every 30-40 mins, I would not let him have anything big to drink after dinner, like just a little drink between dinner and bedtime. Also set him on the toilet before bed, and putting them on the toilet before you go to bed.
