Anyone had their netflix hacked?

Today I got an email from Netflix saying there was an unusual log in to my netflix account from Vietnam. I then got an email stating that I needed to reset my password as there had been an unusual log in. I logged in to netflix (not clicking a link!) and changed my password. I then noticed that there was a new profile in addition to the usual ones with a weird name. Presumably the hacker. I deleted this.

Is there anything else i should have done? I don't use netflix a lot, my dd uses it much more than me, and I have it through my Sky TV.

Can they have accessed anything else?

Not unless you use the same email and password for other things

I had mine hacked a while ago. Also from Vietnam. I called Netflix and got it sorted. Nothing untoward happened as far as I am aware.

Yes, had mine done, only noticed as the subtitles had been turned on and lots of new programmes in my continue watching popped up. Nothing else happened with anything else so just changed my password and all good since then.

I had something similar a couple of weeks ago. The hacker could have been using a VPN so may be down the road, not Vietnam.

I would change your password and also ensure that your old password isn’t one that you use for internet banking or anything like that.

Timely reminder to make sure you have a variety of passwords and you only ever store your credit card (not debit card, or anything that is connected to your current account / savings) online, as any fraudulent transactions are protected. So for me that’s, Amazon, Netflix, Now TV, iTunes and any stores I regularly shop online with such as Sainsbury’s.

Yes mine was a while ago. I received a password change notification and it wasn't me. Netflix sorted it and I removed the added profile.

Changed email address, added phone etc.

Yes this week. Someone in Brazil apparently. Twice. Also had facebook hacked 4 times last week and haven’t had anything like this before.

Have now changed passwords which are so complicated I barely remember them. Brilliant. Wish it was all done on thumbprints.

Mackerz Good advice re passwords. I do use the same password for a number of log ins (poor memory!) but fortunately not this one. It had a different one as I allowed my (adult) dd to use it and I didn't want her to access anything else!

I don't have a card linked to my account as it is paid through Sky.

Ask your kids if they're using a proxy...

I said to my 13 year old son. "Omg somebody in new mexico has logged in to our account". He said "no that was me".

Yes I called them and got a free month. Their customer service is excellent.
