York day trip with kids

I'm headed to York on Thursday with my two DC, aged 8 and 10. We will have from 9am-3pm. Recommendations for things to see / do / visit would be appreciated!

There is a free ghost treasure hunt on this week. Pick up a sheet from most shops or visit York

Love Jorvik but it's very quick/small.
My own favourite is the Cat Trail

We went to York specifically for the sword shop! DS wanted a Zelda sword. We also wanted to be somewhere rural to watch the Perseid meteors so we stayed out near the moors. It was amazing.
