What is pooing down my walls??

I've discovered what I assume are long streaks of poo down my hall walls, splattering into the skirting boards and carpet. We do live rurally and see normal dots of spider poo often, but this is a whole new scale. Do I have a tarantula with diarrhoea in residence?

I had what I assumed were streaks of poo on the wall/floor, especially as it was in the bathroom! I thought my toilet was leaking somehow but it turns out my roof is leaking and as the water runs through the plaster it becomes that poo colour. Maybe that's what's happening here?

Possibly a bat? Or a very tiny bird?

Most likely bat if live rurally.

My parents sometimes get them indoors

Leaks are an interesting idea as we have had problems with the roof. It I can't see any stains on the ceiling.

We do have bats in the barn and they've appeared in the house once (out of nowhere!!) but I can't see any sign of them or a bird. In my experience trapped birds cause a real mess!

I know this sounds silly but is that a hallway / stair area?! Mum had something similar and was tearing her hair out....only to discover the brown stains were from Dads coffee cup. For all the money in the world he could not carry a cup of tea or coffee without it slopping everywhere....made worse when you factor moving up and down stairs. He would jerk and the liquid would jump up and (he thought) was landing back in the cup.... but was contributing to the odd brown drip marks on the painted walls, pictures, skirting boards (some were quite high)!

It's a trapped ghost waiting for Halloween , that's not poo it's ectoplasm residue where it's gone through the wall Halloween Grin

Do you have a dog? One that either shakes wet fur or slobbers? They look like spots that have hit the wall then the runoff. I love a good mystery!

DailyFailAreTwats · 29/10/2019 12:59

Definite mystery! No coffee carriers on the stairs, no pets, probably no ghosts..... One lots of splatters appeared on Sunday, the other lot this morning. Goodness knows what they are, but they are ruining my newly pinky painted hall walls and I'm livid!!!

What type of paint is it?

DailyFailAreTwats · 29/10/2019 14:16

Farrow and Ball paint. Nothing weird!
