Can you elope with children present?

Has anyone eloped with just their fiance and children there? Where? How? I can't seem to find a way.

We have 4 dc aged 9 and under who would be with us. Youngest being an infant. We'd need somewhere we can hire witnesses and have the children with us the entire time and I'm coming up short on whether such a place exists.

Maybe put out a call on here for witnesses? It's been done in the past. I'd happily do it & watch the kids if it was local to me.

I think you are being over complicated and thinking wedding when you need to think holiday with a quick trip to a registry office. No need for a childminder- babies can go in and the registrar will help you to find witnesses. Mid week in a small ceremony room it will be cheap

Then you could book a lovely family suite at a hotel and have a great night away?

Crear wee weddings. They provide a photographer and piper who act as witnesses. The cottage is lovely and homely and sleeps up to 6, when we went though it was just me and DH so the extra rooms had my dress etc.

Oh and loads of folk take kids and pets.

I have actually known people local to me to be asked in the street outside the registry office to witness a marriage.
